After many many requests to show how the Umarex Walther PPK CO2 Tab Modification is done I have relented to public demand. I don't actually cut my tab in this PPK CO2 Tab Modification Video but I do go step-by-step in detail and compare my modified Umarex PPK to my unmodified Umarex PPK. It is really very basic on how this is done and only a hack say and perhaps a file are all that is required to make the modifications to the PPK CO2 tab in order to make it flush with the bottom of the handle area.

Your best bet is to simply watch my YouTube Video located below and follow the steps there but here it is in text form:

1. Place an empty (already pierced) CO2 into your Umarex Walther PPK and tighten the unmodified CO2 tab until fully tightened, just like you would tighten a fresh CO2.

2. Take note at how many threads are exposed between the bottom of the handle and the top of the plastic CO2 tab, there should be about 2-4 threads exposed.

3. Unscrew the CO2 tab all the way, place the PPK BB Pistol so it is secure (in a vice of some sort) and use a hacksaw or dremel to shorten the CO2 screw just above the plastic tab at the thread location you previously noted. Be conservative as you can always cut or file the screw a bit shorter if your first cut was not short enough.

4. Now use the same hacksaw or dremel to cut a notch in the exposed cut area of the CO2 screw so that you can use a slot screwdriver to tighten the CO2 screw.

5. That's it - Enjoy your modified Umarex Walther PPK CO2 BB Pistol!

This is not meant to be a full review of either the BB or Airsoft version of the Cybergun - KWC CO2 Blowback Mini UZI's but I do talk about specifications, show you around both guns, and put them both through a full Field Test so I guess in a way, perhaps it can be considered to be a full review ;)

As I said you can check out all my other videos for info on these very accurate Mini UZI Replicas, I mainly want to go over some of the main differences and similarities for both the BB and Airsoft versions.

In terms of build quality they are made almost exactly the same and weigh in at a hefty near 5 pounds, the only differences are the inner barrel and magazines to accommodate the different sized ammo. The BB version has a 25 round single stack magazine that does not have a follower to stop the bolt from continuing to operate even after the magazine is empty. While the 6mm Airsoft version has a double stack magazine that holds 38 rounds and does have a follower to stop the bolt which can save you some unintentional wasted CO2.

The Airsoft Mini UZI version is distributed by KWC while the 4.5mm BB version is distributed by Cybergun, you will find the UZI and IWI licensing on the Cybergun 4.5mm BB version but not on the KWC 6mm Airsoft version.

Out of the box the KWC Airsoft Mini UZI is ready to go in both semi auto and full auto while the 4.5mm steel BB version will only shoot in semi auto mode, it can however be easily modded to shoot in full auto.

Both guns come in cardboard boxes with manuals, some BB's and an Allen key to tighten the CO2. The KWC Airsoft Mini UZI also comes with a handy speed loader.

There is a slight fps velocity difference between the two with the KWC Airsoft 6mm plastic rounds traveling at around 400 fps (with .20 gram BB's) and the 4.5mm Steel BB's traveling at right around 350 fps. In the field test portion I test both guns out on some water filled cans to see how each ammo type performs in terms of penetration.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Cybergun Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Replica is good in both single and double action. Once the slide is pulled back and released the first round is chambered and the hammer will remain back placing the P226 in single action mode, the pull is light and the take-up is fairly short, most of your shots will be in single action mode unless you use the de-cocker to lower the hammer for a subsequent double action next shot, double action shots are still pretty light but much longer in order to cock the hammer.

Accuracy: Shooting the Cybergun Sig P226 from 20 feet out in semi rested position I was able to get very good results. I placed 10 rounds in about 1.5 inches with the shot placement being a bit low possibly due to my barrel mod, adjusting the hop-up may bring the aim point back up to where it should be. The Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Replica shot right around the 316 fps range while conducting my 5 shot average chrony testing which was lower than advertised but I was using much heavier .20 gram BB's. You can expect to get a full magazine worth of shots out of each gas fill-up but I did notice that as the magazine got colder it did tend to become much less efficient and also seemed to vent a lot of vapor.

Build Quality: The build quality is generally good and I was surprised at the finish on this model as the paint is not showing any wear marks so far, the fit is good with minimal slide and barrel wobble and everything is working very well with no problems so far with a fair amount of shots through it, guess you could say I like shooting this gun :) Most of the gun is metal with only the grips and a couple internal parts being plastic.

Realism: The Cybergun Sig Sauer P226 6mm Airsoft pistol is a replica of the real steel Sig Sauer P226 right down to the licensing and it really is a great looking and functioning Airsoft Replica. You can field strip this gun exactly like a real Sig and all the mechanical parts work just the same including a working de-cocker and adjustable front sight.

I am a big Sig Sauer fan so it would take a lot for me to not give this gun a good review, with that said it performed pretty well, sure it was not the most powerful but I was using gas over CO2 so I was not expecting too much, it also shot a bit low for me but again that may have been because of the barrel mod so who really knows for sure at this point ;) And yes it came with that unsightly orange tip that I took short work of removing. At teh end of the day I still love it and it performed well without letting me down, just like a would expect from a real Sig Sauer!

I usually do my Table Top Video Review first but this time around I did my Field Test Video Review first since I was all setup checking out a couple other guns at the time. When I do my detailed Table Top Video Review for the Cybgergun Sig Suer P226, I'll post the link here so stay tuned. If you have not already checked out my Barrel Mod Video for this same gun then check that video out where I remover the extended orange portion of the metal barrel and make the barrel flush with the end of the slide which is how the real steel version was originally made.

Getting back to the Cybergun Sig Sauer P226 GBB blowback Airsoft Pistol field test, as per usual I test this Airsoft semi auto gas blowback pistol on the Chronograph to see what kind of real world velocity I get and since I had some Green Gas on hand, I used it for this part of the review and got an average of 315 fps with a six shot string.

I also stepped back 20 feet and shot 10 times at my stationary target using a semi rested position (sand bag up front and kneeling in the back). Even though the Sig Sauer P226 shot a bit low I did get about a 1.25 inch group with the exception of one flyer that hooked down just a bit making the 10 shot group a bit wider at just under 2 inches. The low shot placement may have been caused by my barrel mod but since I did not do a before and after test, I can not say for sure?

I have not done my official Table Top and Shooting Reviews for the Gas Blowback Airsoft Cybergun Sig Sauer P226 but I really wanted to cut off the ugly orange painted barrel tip, it was kind of driving me crazy! keep in mind here in Canada we are not required to have orange tips on our Airsoft guns, most of the all metal or all black Airsoft guns imported these days fall into the "airgun uncontrolled firearms" category. If you live in the US or other parts of the world you could be breaking the law if you do this mod so be warned...

Your best best is to simply watch my Vimeo Video as I show you exactly how I removed the orange painted portion of the metal barrel using a hack saw, file, vice and some sand paper. All in all it was not too difficult and only took about 15 minutes to complete...

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Real Action Paintball RAP4 X50 is rather nice in single action, being a true blowback gun, the cycling of the slide not only chambers a round but also pre-cocks the hammer allowing for a very smooth and light single action trigger pull. There is also a working de-cocker that allows you to release the internal hammer. Double action is noticeably heavier but would only really be used on the first shot if you had already used the de-cocker.

Accuracy: After my previous review of the RAM X50 I was expecting this gun to perform pretty much the same. I did find it to be a bit more accurate within the 20-25 foot range using the rubber balls but when I got out into the field and switched over to the Paintballs I found that they where really hooking and darting all over the place? Mind you, this gun was right out of the box and not broken in yet. I also got a bit lower fps (right around 250) out of the RAP4 RAM Walther P99 compared to my RAM X50 but again my review unit had not been adjusted in any way and I imagine I could turn it up a bit to get more fps out of it if I wante to. The plus side is I was able to get an astounding 8 magazines worth of shots out of one CO2.

Build Quality: The RAP4 RAM Walther P99 styled Paintball Pistol is built very well, it does have a polymer frame but the gun overall has lots of metal parts and a very good overall 2 pounds weight to it dry. The blowback action is very snappy and all the mechanics and fit and finish all look and function very nicely. The slide spring is nice and firm giving this paintball gun a snappy recoil and the feel closer to a real gun than that of an airgun.

Realism: The RAP4 RAM Walther P99 was primarily made to simulate real word shooting environments for Police and Military users and even includes Walther branding and licensing, it is a very believable looking and functioning copy of the real steel semi auto pistol it replicates. Other than the exception of the CO2 Cylinder hanging a bit far out of the bottom of the handle. The RAM P99 would be hard to tell from the actual Walther P99, especially when looking down the large .43 caliber barrel. The Blowback action and firm recoil help pull off the believability when shooting this ralistic Paintball Pistol.

My targets where barrels this time but they could have been other people with similar paintball guns shooting back at me which would have put even more pressure on me and forced me to really see where my mistakes are being made. That's the whole point of this type of training airgun, make it as real as it can be without your actual life being in danger so that when you are in danger you will not have to think about what you are doing but simply react based on your previous training. I think anyone who is a gun owner wanting to improve their reactive shooting skills should invest in one of these Paintball guns. One day you may thank yourself but let's hope it does not come to that!

You may remember my review of the RAP4 RAM X50 (Sig Sauer P226) Blowback Paintball gun? Anyways I have added three models to to the Canada Replica Airguns store. These are really great guns and can be used as training aids because of their excellent realism and of course in paintball wars.

Right off the bat I have to say I had a great time making this Field Test Video Review of the RAP4 RAM X50 (Sig P226) .43 Caliber Blowback Paintball Pistol. I did something I don't generally do, I went back into my forest area of the property and setup some human sized targets (5 gallon buckets) and did some tactical real world shooting simulation, it was a lot of fun and the RAP4 RAM X50 Paintball Pistol worked perfectly for this as I could very easily see exactly where I was shooting and also did not have to worry too much about rebounding ammo.

This video only covers the shooting performance of the RAP4 RAM X50, so checkout my Table Top Review for things like the Specifications and Features.

In this video I start out by doing a Chronograph Test and shoot not only Paintball rounds but also some Rubber bullet and got very good average FPS results using both ammo types (288 fps using .43 caliber Rubber Balls and 279 fps using .42 caliber Paintballs).

I also tested the accuracy out from 20 feet away in a semi rested position and got about an 8 inch group with a full 9 round magazine, which on a human sized target would do the trick for sure. Keep in mind this is not a target pistol! My Tactical Field or should I say "Forest test", showed that this paintball pistol performs very well when used in a simulated shooting scenario.

I can really see a use for a gun like this, mainly for training oneself on how to acquire targets quickly and how to improve your tactical shooting skills.

Accuracy: I did not expect amazing result with The RAM X50 Paintball Pistol in my preliminary testing as it does use rather light weight and fairly small caliber Paintballs that will be susceptible to wind gusts and the seems on them will make them a bit more turbulent than a standard Pellet, BB or Airsoft round. Even so I was able to hit pretty much any moderate sized target I shot at and I would assume in a battle situation I could place most shots on a human sized target fairly well as along as I was not too panic stricken ;)

Build Quality: The RAP4 RAM X50 Sig Sauer P226 styled Pistol is built very well, it does have a polymer frame but the gun overall has lots of metal parts and a very good overall 2.2 pounds weight to it dry. The blowback action is very snappy and all the mechanics and fit and finish all look and function very nicely. The only function that was not working on my "used" gun was the slide catching on the last round. I have not looked into it too much to see what may be the problem but I can see some wear on the catch area of the slide that may be causing it. I have no idea how the previous owners may have cared for this Paintball gun but overall it is in good condition.

Realism: The RAP4 RAM X50 was primarily made to simulate real word shooting environments for Police and Military users and even though it is not branded and licensed as such, it is a bang on copy of a Sig Sauer P226 Semi Auto Pistol. Other than the exception of the CO2 Cylinder hanging a bit far out of the bottom of the handle, The RAM X50 would be hard to tell from the Real Steel Sig Sauer P226, especially when looking down the large .43 caliber barrel. The Blowback action and firm recoil help pull off the believability when shooting this Paintball Pistol.

I have had my eye on this paintball pistol for some time now, the first time I saw it, it was behind the counter in a Paintball store and generally in Canada they sell in retail shops for about $450+ so I have kind of been holding off to see if it woudl come my way a bit more affordably. The time came when I was able to leverage another sought after item I had and I was able to add this gun to my collection. I found that it shoots much like many of my other blowback airguns but perhaps with a bit more force than most. Shooting at targets 20-40 feet away was easy and the Paintball's had no problems breaking on contact with most medium to hard objects. I normally would not have a need for Paintball pistol but heck, why not if it looks this good and next time I go out to a paintball battle, I will have a surprise waiting for when I run out of rifle ammo or need to work in some close combat situations...

When it comes to Airguns and Blank Guns, it's not often that an item is actually more money to buy in the US but with the Webley Alecto, it was actually more money in the US so I got to thinking, why not ship our Canada version to our US customers so they can save a few bucks! Both the US and Canada Webley Alecto are the same with only one exception, the Canada version has been detuned but this can be easily rectified with a simple valve modification (Instructions delivered after purchased from Replica Airguns).

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IZH Drozd Blackbird is nice and light due to the fact that the trigger is not mechanical but is instead an electronic on-off switch that operates a solenoid. The solenoid pulsates in turn hitting the CO2 valve release. This is how the single fire and burst fire rates are achieved, by means of electronics.

Accuracy: The Drozd Blackbird is designed to be a machine gun and so testing it in single shot mode for accuracy is kind of taking it out of its element. Even so it did reasonably well, but when when I flicked it over to full auto it actually seemed to tighten up and start grouping even more centered and closer together considering the vast amount of rounds coming out of the barrel all at once :)

Build Quality: This is a typical Russian made gun, all business and less importance put on looks but even so it is visually appealing, at least to me! Everything works exactly as it should and even though the main shell is made out of plastic, it's really more of a weapons grade polymer so there is no cause for concern here. There are a fair amount of metal components like the factory barrel, much of the magazine and many internal parts. This air gun is very durable!

Realism: The Baikal Drozd Blackbird IZH MP-661K is not a replica, but it does look like a sub machine gun of sorts, I'm really just not sure exactly what it looks like as it kind of has its own look. When you start shooting it, looks just don't seem to matter anymore, all you can think about is how much damage is happening down range.

The Baikal Drozd Blackbird IZH MP-661K takes all the fun you get with the Classic Drozd and gives you even more fun. It may be one of the more pricy BB machine guns on the market but it is well worth the extra cost to get such a quality product that not only is great out of the box but can also be modified in so many ways to improve its performance and looks dramatically. If you are looking for the absolute top player in the BB Machine gun category then the Drozd Blackbird is the top contender with its excellent build quality and performance along with the nearly unlimited modifications available to make the Blackbird perform up to anyones standards.

I'm kind of doing this one backwards this time around. I was going to do the table top review of the Baikal Drozd Blackbird first but the weather was just too nice to pass up today to not get outside and give this gun a thorough testing.

I had a lot of fun shooting this gun, it lays down a lot of steel in a very short amount of time and has a virtually endless 900 round BB hopper that just keeps on going. During my testing I shot close to 400 rounds or more using one 88 gram CO2 cartridge and even near the end the Baikal Drozd Blackbird had pretty good feet per second performance.

My Baikal Blackbird does have some upgrades: (JimC Barrel, Full Auto-High RPM Mod Chip, Added Accessory Rails, Red Dot Scope, Tactical Light, Laser and Bulk Air kit) but the stock version is "almost" as fun :)

Sometimes you just got to make a video because you can and because it's just plain old fun! And that's why I made this video of me shooting some cans with dual full auto BB machine guns. One is my full auto converted and trusted Cybergun Mini UZI and the other is my newly acquired ZMZ Tyrex PPA-K-01 Russian Machine Pistol.

One of my viewers sent some photos of his custom sanded and polished two-tone ASG STI Duty One 1911. Ken did an awesome job and it makes me want to do the same to mine :)

He started out by sanding off the paint with 500 grit sandpaper and working his way finer right up to 2000 grit and then finishing off with some Meguiar’s NXT Generation metal polish. The results are amazing -  see for yourself!

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IZH Drozd is nice and light due to the fact that the trigger is not mechanical but is instead an electronic on-off switch that operates a solenoid. The solenoid pulsates in turn hitting the CO2 valve release. This is how the single fire and burst fire rates are achieved.

Accuracy: When I was sighting the Baikal Drozd in I got several 5 shot groups well within 1 inch 30 feet out from the target. But when I did my actual video accuracy test, the Drozd did not perform as well, getting more like a 2 inch group, still very reasonable for a gun that can shoot 600 rounds per minute out of the box and 1200 rounds per minute when modified. With metal streaming out the barrel like that you are pretty much going to hit what ever you point it at, the odds are in your favor!

Build Quality: This is a typical Russian made gun, all business and less importance put on looks but even so it is visually appealing, at least to me! Everything works exactly as it should and even though the main shell is plastic it is really a weapons grade polymer so there is no cause for concern here. There are a fair amount of metal components like the factory barrel, most of the magazine and many internal parts.

Realism: Again, the Baikal Drozd IZH MP-661K is not a replica, but it does look like a sub machine gun in many ways, I'm really just not sure exactly what it looks like but when you are shooting this gun you really don't think much about this point because you are too busy grinning!

Cons:

• 12 Gram CO2 - you need to change it often!

• Top Accessory rail is a bit short and low.

• Rear stock can get lose sometimes (just add some tape to tighten it up a bit).

Comments:

The Baikal IZH MP-661K is one of the most fun BB machine guns out there and well worth the extra cost to get such a quality product that not only is great out of the box but can also be modified in so many ways to improve it's performance and looks dramatically. Sure the Baikal IZH MP-661K now has a big brother, the Drozd Blackbird, but the Blackbird may be just a bit of overkill for some, I kind of like the Drozd Classics more compact size and if you can't nail what your shooting at with 30 rounds then your doing something very wrong! The Drozd is really the epitome of extreme BB gun weaponry!

The Webley Alecto (AKA: Zoraki HP-01) may not fit in exactly as a "Replica" Airgun, although it does resemble a bloated Dessert Eagle! But it is an Airgun worthy of spending some time reviewing an this is now my third Vimeo Video review for the Webley Alecto. My first Video Review was a Table Top Review where I covered most of the Webley's basic operation. My second Vimeo Video was a Chronograph Test to see what my Webley Alecto could do performance wise for FPS.

I really wanted to do a video of this gun just shooting because that's what it does best, put lead down range very accurately! So I setup three cameras to capture it all from just about every angle I could think of and I set up 30 feet away from my target and shot 5 rounds in a rested position using a Red Dot Scope. The results where not surprising - pretty close to a 1/2 inch grouping!

If you're looking for a compact, hard hitting, accurate target or small pest control Air gun then look no further, the Webley Alecto has the goods!
