Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver Table Top Review

Type: BB air revolver.

Manufacturer:UmarexUSA.

Model:Colt Single Action Army.

Materials: Mostly metal with plastic grips.

Weight: 2.1 pounds.

Barrel: 4.5 inches, non-rifled.

Propulsion: 12 gram CO2.

Action: Revolver, single action only.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.

FPS: 410fps.

Trigger Pull: Trigger pull on the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolvers is the best I have ever come across in an airgun. Being that the Umarex Single Action Army Revolvers are single action only, most of the work is done while you pre-cock the hammer. The trigger pull is under 2 pounds and has virtually no take up with a crisp release.

Accuracy: I tested both 4.5mm steel BB's and 4.7mm Lead ball BB's in the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver. With the Steel 4.5mm BB's I shot just under a 2 inch 6 shot grouping when shooting from a 30 foot distance using a semi rested position (Sand bag up front, standing in the back). The shots where pretty well center hitting the paper target just a little bit high, they did seem to stray a little more left and right rather then up and down. When I switch ammo to the 4.7mm Lead BB's I got a similar 2 inch grouping but they hit the target a bit lower and tended to shoot tighter from side to side with more variation up and down, perhaps because the lead BB's did not seem to shoot at a vary consistent velocity. My Chronograph testing for the Steel BB's was right around 400 fps while the Lead BB's being heavier shot a bit slower at just under 300 fps.

Build Quality: The Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolvers have a mostly all metal construction other than the plastic grips and any seals. The fit and finish is excellent with a great overall weight in the hand. Whether you get the Nickel or Blued version. The mechanical action of the hammer and trigger feels just like it would on a real single action army revolver.

Realism: In terms of replicating a real steel Colt Single Action Army Revolver, Umarex has done a really great job with their CO2 BB firing version. It's really hard to tell one from the other except for the smaller shells and the discreet safety switch located under the frame. Even the barrel is nicely recessed and has some fake rifling twists in it. The CO2 is well hidden with the Allen key built into the handle so no ugly screw tab hanging down.

Available in the:Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Finally a current production Single Action Army Revolver!

  • Looks amazing and is a very accurate replica of the real steel old west version.

  • Recessed barrel with fake rifling.

  • Great weight and feel in the hand.

  • Shell loading design that loads from the back so no need to remove shells if you wish not to.

  • Hammer and trigger action is about perfect, no take-up, very crisp and super light.

  • Finish on both the Nickel and Blued version is very nice.

  • Very well concealed CO2 with built in Allen key.

  • Discreet safety location.

Cons:

  • In your face warning instruction on the right side of the barrel are a shame.

  • Real steel version would shoot .45 caliber bullets, dummy shells are actual closer to a .38.

  • Seems really quiet to shoot, would like to see a louder more powerful version!

Comments:

All I can say is we finally got our Airgun 1857 Colt Single Action Army Revolver! I have been asking the big airgun companies for this for a while and I knew it would be very popular once made available. As it turns out, not only do the "Americans" want one, but so do many folks overseas! I am really glad that time and effort was put into this first version and we got such a great product that looks amazing and shoots just as good as it looks. For anyone who is interested in owning the classic cowboy six shooter, you have to make sure to get one of these super realistic Single Action Historic Revolves!

Colt Python Polymer - HK45 - Webley & Scott MK6 - Colt SAA Blued CO2 BB Pistol Preview

Some more new guns I will be checking out, well one is just a different finish of the Umarex Colt SAA Revolver but for sure worth taking a look at in this Preview Video.

All the guns in the Vimeo Preview Video and CO2 4.5mm BB Pistols, three are styled after revolvers and one is based on a semi auto modern pistol.

Starting with the revolvers I show off the absolutely gorgeous blued finish on the Umarex Colt Single Action Army BB Revolver and it all I can say is it really needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate how great it looks. I was not expecting the blued version to look nicer than the Nickel version but in my opinion it is my favorite of the two. And that's not to say the Nickel version is not a great looking pistol in it's own right.

I've been waiting a while to see firsthand the Webley & Scott MK6 CO2 BB Revolver and it finally came this week. Another really well built and designed classic Revolver to add to the list of shell loading CO2 BB Revolvers. I was really impressed with the trigger and hammer action, both single and double action feel super smooth and the position of the hammer makes for really easy draw for single action shooting. The 2.4 pound all metal weight give the Webley & Scott MKVI great balance and realism, while the top-break design makes for super easy loading.

Not to be mistaken with the Full Metal Shell Loading Umarex Colt Python 357, I take a look at the more affordable Umarex Polymer Colt Python 357 that fits the bill nicely when looking for a BB Revolver with a nice hammer and trigger, fully adjustable sights, and higher than average capacity magazines than your standard revolver.

Last but not least I look at another fairly affordable CO2 BB Pistol, the Umarex HK45. It's a pretty basic CO2 BB pistol but looks really good and has decent weight with its metal slide. The HK45 features white dot sights, a Picatinny rail, an all metal drop out stick magazine and full Heckler and Koch licensing.

Maks sure to check these guns out in our Canada Replica Airguns Store.

Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver Target Test

Part 2 of my two part Field Test Shooting Video Review, this one focuses on the accuracy or target portion using my Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver. As per usual I set my self up 30 feet from my paper targets using a semi rested position (Standing in the back, while resting the gun on a sand bag up front). I normally take 10 shots and see what kind of a grouping I can get but with a six shooter that requires some reloading so we will base this testing on six shots.

Like part 1 in my Chronograph or velocity Field Test, I use a variety of ammo, starting off with 4.5mm Steel BB's and then switching to some 4.7mm Lead BB's for the second group of 6 shots from the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Revolver. I decided not to try the Dan Wesson Dummy Shells since they proved to be not so reliable during my Chronograph testing.

At the end of the Video I have some fun with my KWC / Cybergun Government 1911 just to see how it compares to a fixed barrel revolver.

Make sure to watch my below YouTube Review Video to see my full shooting accuracy result, I can say both the steel and lead BB's shot from the Umarex Colt Single Action Historic BB Revolver shot similar under 2 inch groupings with the lead BB's dropping a bit on the target with their slower velocity.

Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver Chronograph Test

I decided to split this Field Test Shooting Review of the Umarex Colt Single Action Army into two parts since i wanted to do multiple tests with multiple types of ammo and dummy shells. at the end of the video I also throw in my Cybergun / KWC 1911 Blowback BB Pistol just for fun since both of these pistols where used in the US Military.

I start off by testing out the Umarex Colt Single Action Shell Loading BB Revolver shooting 6 rounds through my Chronograph using the included Umarex Dummy Shells with steel 5.1 grain 4.5mm BB's since this is what most people will experience. In my second test I switch up the ammo slightly and try out some much heavier Lead BB's that are a bit larger than 4.5mm (about 4.7mm) and weigh in at somewhere between 7-8 grains.

On my third test I go back to the standard 4.5mm Steel BB's but switch out the included Umarex dummy shells and replace them with some Dan Wesson Dummy Shells. Both shells are about the same length and width but with the included Umarex shells, you load the BB's into the back of the shell. With the Dan Wesson shells you load the BB into the front of the shell.

Of course lastly I bring out my KWC Cybergun / KWC 1911 Blowback BB Pistol and put 6 rounds through the Chronograph just for fun :)

You can watch the below video to find out how each shooting option worked in the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver, to quickly summarize how each 6 shot gun averaged out:

  • The Umarex Dummy Shells with 4.5mm Steel BB's shot just under 400 fps.

  • The Umarex Dummy Shell with 4.7mm Lead BB's shot around 270 fps.

  • The Dan Wesson Dummy Shells with 4.5mm Steel BB's shot just under 250 fps.

  • My Colt Government 1911 shot pretty close to 300 fps using standard 4.5mm Steel BB's.

Having Some Fun with the Umarex Colt Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver

What do you do when you have some nice weather and a brand new Umarex Shell Loading Colt Single Action Historic CO2 BB Revolver that you are itching to try out! Well you go shoot it, that's what you do! So I thought I would setup a bunch of miscellaneous targets along with some cameras and record the fun so you all could join me :)

I did use steel BB's for the most part but I also gave some lead BB's I had lying around a try, the lead BB's are a bit larger in diameter so they fit fairly snug, I would not recommend using them on anything other than a brand new CO2 cartridge or they could get stuck in a shell or the barrel. The lead BB's are also much heavier than steel BB's so they do not go as fast but seemed to work pretty good for me. A great option if you are shooting at metal targets with your Umarex Colt Peacemaker!

I also discovered that one can simply load BB's directly into the back of each shell without having to actually take the shells out of the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Revolver, so if you only have 6 shells and want to keep the shooting moving along then just pop the BB's directly into the shells.

Kimar M85 & Lady K - Webley Tempest - Daisy Powerline 5501 Update

I wanted to make a quick video to showcase a few items I will be reviewing and some of which are also for sale in the Replica Airguns Store.

First off we have a few of the new front firing Kimar Model 85's (Orange Slide) left in Canada. I stated out with 9 and I am not down to 3 so hurry on this one if you want one in Canada. If you are in the US, I also have them for sale in my US Replica Airguns Store in both Black and Nickel.

Next up I just wanted to show you a Kimar Lady K that will show up some time down the road in a video review, this item is now in my personal collection and sorry it is not for sale in either my Canada or US store at this time.

I have had lots of requests to review the Daisy Powerline 5501 and to be honest I have wanted to get this one for some time and even though it is available for sale in our US Replica Airguns Store I have not had the opportunity to pick one up until now so look forward to that review again some time down the road...

Last but not least I wanted to give you a closer look at the new Turkish made high powered Webley Tempest I have available in the Canada Store, these ones shoot as hard as legally possible within our Canada limitation to be classified as uncontrolled firearms and they make  great compact pest control pistols that you can keep handy for when required.

OK, so that's it for now and be sure to watch the full reviews of these guns when I get to them shortly!

Kimar Model 85 8mm P.A.K. Front Firing Blank Pistols for Sale

As most of you Canadian blank enthusiasts are aware, blank guns are next to impossible to find in Canada right now, let alone a brand new blank gun! I have acquired "at substantial cost" 8 brand new Kimar Model 85 8mm P.A.K. Front Firing Blank Pistols that I will sell to the first 8 buyers, I will not be getting any more of these as this was purchased from a suppliers back-stock inventory.

As is with all rare items - they will not be sold cheap, this version also only comes with the orange painted slide which by the way is fairly easy to paint black or strip to a nickel finish. I stripped mine and I didn't even have any paint remover around - I simply used some paint thinner and my dremel for the stubborn areas, followed up with some Autosol metal polish to brighten it up.

The Kimar Mod. 85 Blank Pistol closely resembles the Beretta Cheetah hand gun in looks, and functionality. The Kimar Mod. 85 comes with an 8 round single stack magazine and has an orange painted slide. This model is perfect if you like the look of the Beretta 92 FS but want something just a bit smaller. The Kimar Model 85 comes with a flare adaptor and cleaning rod.
  • 8mm P.A.K blanks
  • 8 round magazine

  • Semi auto
  • Single & double action
  • Front firing!
  • Come with flare adaptor & Cleaning rod

Kimar Mod. K 760 .177 Caliber Spring Piston Break Barrel Rifle Review

Type: Pellet air rifle.

Manufacturer:Kimar.

Model:K 760.

Materials: Metal & plastic.

Weight: About 3+ pounds.

Barrel: 14 inches, metal-rifled.

Propulsion: Spring piston.

Action: Single shot.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 1 round.

FPS: 450.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Kimar Model K 760 is a bit stiff but on a beginner gun I would recommend the trigger to be on the heavy side for safety reasons and also to teach correct trigger control. It did not seem to effect my shooting at all which was nice.

Accuracy: Very good, I was surprised at the tight group I got from a semi rested position and with open sights, I nearly got a 3/4 inch group from 30 feet out which is about the best I can expect from just about any gun I have shot in the same manner. The Kimar Model K 760 spring piston break barrel rifle also shot true to it's claimed feet per second rating and got right around the 450 fps velocity mark.

Build Quality: The Kimar K 760 .177 air rifle is not going to win any prizes for style or craftsmanship but it gets the job done and in about as simple a manner as is required. With that said, what can really go wrong with it?Crank the barrel and pull the trigger. The lack of a safety does not really bother me as I never ever trust a safety and it's always good to learn how to keep a gun safe at all times even when you "believe" it is not loaded or ready to shoot. There is some plastic found on the Kimar K 760 like in the sights and the stock but the mechanical parts are all metal including the trigger.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive spring piston rifle.

  • Reasonable quality for the money.

  • Synthetic stock good in all elements.

  • I pump - 1 shot.

  • Decent FPS, could be used on small game with practice.

  • Very good accuracy even with open sights.

  • Adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Very compact and easy cocking effort - good for younger shooters.

  • Made in Italy

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

Cons:

  • Very basic design, no frills.

  • No safety or trigger adjustments.

  • No ability to mount a scope.

Comments:

Coming in at around $50, you can not ask the world from the Kimar Mod. K 760 .177 Caliber Spring Piston Rifle! What you can ask for is for decent accuracy and usable fps, and that's exactly what you are going to get from the Kimar K 760. This break barrel air rifle is really perfect for a beginner shooter on a budget or even for someone who may want to pack it around in some ugly situations where you wouldn't want to subject your high priced top quality air rifle. For the money you really can't lose with this one!

Crosman - Kimar CK92 CO2 Beretta 92FS Pellet Pistol Review

Type: Pellet air pistol.

Manufacturer:Crosman & Kimar.

Model:CK92.

Materials: Mostly metal.

Weight: 2.6 pounds.

Barrel: 4.25 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: .177 cal. pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 8 round rotary magazine.

FPS: 394.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman - Kimar CK92 is absolutely excellent! Single action is very light and smooth and double action is almost exactly the same. The CK92 has one of the lightest and smoothest double action trigers out of all my airguns and that's saying a lot!

Accuracy: I shot the Crosman - Kimar CK92 air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well getting about a two inch grouping right close to the center, just to the right. Most of the rounds stayed in a one inch group while two rounds strayed away a bit. I had a very awkward grip due to my camera mount so I know this guns should get closer to a one inch grouping with some getting used to it and using a standard grip. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation so hitting the bullseye would not take much work. My Chronograph testing started out a bit rough due to the 10 year absence of shooting this gun but once I blew out some of the cobwebs it settled in at around the 350 fps mark and I was also able to get 10 magazines worth of shots before I noticed a drop in performance.

Build Quality: The Crosman- Kimar CK92 is built like a tank, it is probably one of my heaviest pellet pistols weighing in at 2.6 pounds! The build quality and craftsmanship is very nice with most of the gun being made out of metal and only a couple parts made from plastic like the grips and part of the rear sight. You can really feel the quality of this gun when you pick it up and squeeze the trigger a few times.

Realism: The CK92 pellet air pistol is a very nice copy of the real steel Beretta 92FS and considering it was made some 10 years ago when most replica air guns still looked mostly like air guns. You really have to give Crosman and Kimar credit for making this gun so close to the actual Beretta 92FS. Everything is exactly where it would normally be on the real Beretta and most of the mechanical part are functional, even if they serve a different purpose as it is an airgun after all.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • The price is right, especially for this condition of collectors item!

  • All metal very heavy and well made gun.

  • Pellet shooting with a rifled barrel.

  • Fully adjustable rear sight with windage and elevation.

  • Decent accuracy and power and CO2 usage.

  • CO2 screw and tab are hidden in the handle.

  • Excellent trigger pull in both single and double action.

  • Very good Beretta 92FS replica.

  • Comes in a plastic case.

  • Rare collectors opportunity.

  • Made in Italy

Cons:

  • Have to use narrow headed CO2, can be a bit tricky to load until you get used to it

  • This is a 10 year old gun and hard to tell how reliable it will be because of its age?

  • When they are gone, they are gone! No more in this kind of shape.

Comments:

This was a very different review for me to do, a part of me wanted to just put my two CK92's away in a safe place and just keep them as collectors guns but I was also very curious to see if the CK92 performed as well as it looked and felt. Curiosity got the best of me as you can see and I am glad I ended up testing at least my Chrome CK92 because it was a real joy to shoot and it didn't let me down in any way. I am not going to recommend the CK92 airgun for anyone who plans to shot it regularly because I really believe that 10 year old valves and seals have a lot more potential to fail then a new airgun and getting replacement part will not be easy for this very fine air pistol. That said, you may get lucky because it's a very well made air gun. Personally I am going to put both my Chrome and Black Crosman - Kimar CK92's in a nice safe place and treasure them like you would anything rare and valuable. I think these guns are selling at a steel of a price right now and when they are all gone I just know people will be offering me several times the price I paid for my personal Chrome and Black Crosman - Kimar CK92's, and I will tell you my answer right now... Sorry, these guns are not for sale.

Crosman - Kimar CK92 Chrome Pellet Pistol Arrives

I received my black Crosman - Kimar CK92 Beretta styled pellet pistol last week and I got my Chrome CK92 today, and wow does it ever look nice! I was kind of shocked by how nice this collector piece looked, my black CK92 looks nice but the chrome version is something else. I'd almost say it looks more like polished metal then a chrome plating and there is a difference. I like the more mechanical look of polished metal personally!

The Chrome CK92 also comes with a really nice hard shell case with cut-outs for the gun which is a bit nicer hard case then the one that comes with the Black CK92. So for the extra $20 it may be worth it for some of you.

The Chrome version is selling as a refurbished unit for $119 and when it's gone that's it. I'm not planning on using this gun all that often, I bought it mainly as a collectors airgun. I will be reviewing both of my Crosman - Kimar CK92's this week so stay tuned for my full video review...

Crosman Kimar CK92 .177 Caliber Pellet Pistols Now Available

Well it took a long time but the Crosman Kimar CK92 .177 caliber pellet pistols finally arrived from the Kimar factory and they are now on sale. The reason it took so long is because each and every one of them was inspected prior to the entire shipment being released. Guess that's a good thing at the end of the day and worth waiting for!

Originally we thought they where going to be brand spanking new but when they arrived the years sitting around in the Kimar factory has aged them just a bit but not like the age of a used gun for sure.

Because of this we have decided to sell them as Refurbished units and as a refurbished unit we have dropped the price just a bit on them and they are now $99 for the black and $119 for the Chrome. We also got less then we expected, I guess some did not pass the tests so we won't have these forever and they may go up near the end.

Just to summaries what the CK92 is:
