Make sure to checkout my Table Top Video and Written Review for the KWC Makarov PM CO2 Blowback BB Pistol where I show you around this Russian made target pistol and go over its features and specifications.
This Video review focuses on the shooting performance of the KWC Makarov PM BB Pistol. I test it out to see what kind of velocity it can achieve and I also perform an accuracy test to see what kind of grouping I can get from 30 feet back on a paper target.
My first test, the velocity test I performed using my Chronograph shooting 5.1 grain RWS steel BB's with a fresh CO2 cartridge. The fps ranged from 246 to 274 fps with an average 5 shot reading of 257 feet per second. Keep in mind it was a pretty cold day, even my pool was frozen over. I did keep the KWC Makarov PM inside right up till the time of testing and even left the magazine in my pocket till right before I tested it out. The fps was rather low but I would expect to hit closer to 300 on a warmer summer day. The KWC Makarov PM CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a full functioning full blowback pistol with a short barrel so I was not expecting super high fps from it.
Moving on to the accuracy portion of this field test shooting review, I performed my usual 30 foot paper target test using a semi rested stance standing in the back with a sandbag up front to rest my hands on. This position is fairly stable but not perfect so there is always some human factor involved. I found the KWC Makarov PM CO2 Blowback BB Pistol shot rather low at 30 feet, about 4 inches to be exact. There is a preset built in hop-up system which does give the BB backspin so at longer ranges the BB may even make up some of this distance since the backspin will give the steel BB a bit of lift as it travels. There where a few stragglers that shot a bit low making the grouping just over 2 inches but there was a clearly defined tighter sub group that was about 1.75 inches in diameter. Overall shot placement as I said was low but pretty good side to side.
The blowback on the KWC Makarov PM CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is really nice and snappy, giving the Makarov Replica some felt recoil and of course resetting the hammer after each shot for that nice and light single action shooting. The trigger take-up is minimal and the release is light and predictable. I would have to say the KWC Makarov PM CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is one of my favorite overall Makarov airgun replicas since it has pretty much everything going for it.
