ASG Franchi SAS 12 Short Barreled Airsoft Shotgun Field Test Review

I don't often review shotguns let alone Airsoft Shotguns, I did do a review a while back on the Umarex Walther SG9000 4.5mm Steel BB Shotgun but that was a while back and Umarex no longer makes the SG9000 at least in Steel BB version.

So I was kind of excited to get outside and test out another Shotgun regardless of ammo type. The ASG Franchi SAS 12 Short Barreled Airsoft Shotgun is true pump action spring piston design Airsoft gun that releases 3 shots at a time using three separate internal barrels rather then the BB's being stacked in one barrel. This makes for some pretty reliable adn consistent shooting. When using .20 gram Airsoft BB's I got very solid fps results of 280 fps which is pretty good considering I am actually shooting .60 grams taking into account three BB's come out with each shot.

I also found that accuracy with the ASG Franchi SAS 12 Short Barreled Airsoft Shotgun was about what I was expecting. I was not looking for pin point accuracy since it is a shotgun and shotguns spread out their BB's for optimal coverage. When shooting on a paper target from 30 feet back using a free standing position, I got a well centered 5 inch spread and even when aiming at smaller metal targets I was able to snag them most of the time with at least one of the three Airsoft BB's.

All in all I really enjoyed shooting the ASG Franchi SAS 12 Short Barreled Airsoft Shotgun, it's fairly light weight so carrying it around all day in the field should be no problem, you can even sling it over your back with the included sling. I can really see it as an asset when used in a close quarter situation since it is nice and short and easy to change aim point directions.
