KWC Model 1911 All Metal Non-Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Airsoft pistol.

Manufacturer: KWC.

Model:Model 1911 All Metal.

Materials: Mostly metal build.

Weight: 2.4 pounds.

Barrel: 5.2 inches, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x1.

Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only.

Ammunition Type: Airsoft plastic 6mm.

Magazine Capacity: 15 rounds

FPS: ? (1.6 Joules)

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWC Model 1911 All Metal Non-Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol was about medium to hard but I have definitely experienced heavier trigger pulls on many double action only Airguns. It is nice that the trigger has the look of a 1911 and not your typical lever styled trigger. I did find the trigger to be very usable and the release point is smooth and fairly predictable.

Accuracy: I have yet to perform my field test shooting component for the KWC Model 1911 All Metal Non-Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol, however I have reviewed the same gun in 4.5mm Steel BB Cybergun version and here is what I had to say about that the Steel BB version: "Accuracy was decent but not outstanding, I got around a 2.5 inch grouping from a 20 foot away free standing position, shooting just to the left and high on the target. I did find that I was able to zone in a bit better with the Cybergun GSR 1911 as I got used to the trigger. I also put the Cybergun Sig Sauer GSR through my Chrony Chronograph and got very close the manufacturers 397 claimed feet per second, actually starting off well above it and settling down to around the 370 FPS mark. My 8 shot average on a new CO2 was actually 422 FPS."

Build Quality: The build quality for the KWC Model 1911 is very good, this is an almost all metal Airsoft gun with a few exceptions like the hammer, trigger. magazine release, slide catch and grip safety. Pretty much everything else is metal including the slide, frame, magazine, and even the grips. The finish is very good and since there is lots of metal with minimal moving parts and less to go wrong, this should make for a very reliable pistol.

Realism: The KWC Model 1911 CO2 Airsoft Pistol is very close to the look, weight, and feel of the real steal Sig-Arms 1911 GSR! Even the 1911 style trigger was replicated as best as it could be given it being double action only. It would have been nice to have a single action trigger and a working slide to finish off the illusion but overall the GSR is a really nice copy of the real steel Sig Sauer GSR Sig-Arms 1911 firearm.

Available From: The Replica Airguns Canada Store

Pros:

  • Excellent weight and very solid feeling gun.

  • Mostly Metal design.

  • All metal magazine holds CO2 and Airsoft BB's

  • Very Accurate Sig-Arms Sig Sauer 1911 GSR Replica.

  • Should have good FPS and lots of shots per CO2 based on my 4.5mm BB version testing!

  • Very affordable and good value for the money.

  • Rail for mounting accessories.

  • Nice sights with white dots front and back.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • True 1911 style trigger even though it is double action only.

  • Very affordable price tag.

Cons:

  • Non-blowback and the slide does not move either.

  • The hammer is only for show and does not cock for single action shots.

  • Trigger action is bit heavy but not not too bad for a double action trigger.

  • Non adjustable rear sights.

Comments:

For a relatively inexpensive All Metal Airsoft gun you get a lot for your money with the KWC Model 1911, most importantly a very accurate reproduction of the real steal Sig-Arms Sig Sauer 1911 GSR firearm! If you're a 1911 fan and want to pick up an Airsoft gun that won't set you back too much, then the KWC Model 1911 would make a great choice with it's heavy full metal weight, full size drop out metal magazine, accurate reproduction of the real steal Sig-Arms GSR and again that very affordable price tag.

Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911 CO2 BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: BB air pistol.
Manufacturer: Swiss Arms.
Model: Sig Sauer GSR 1911.
Materials: Mostly plastic construction with a few metal parts.
Weight: 1.3 pound.
Barrel: 4.5 inches, metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto, double action.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 20 round magazine.
FPS: 398 claimed - 450 real world.
Trigger Pull: The Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911 has a double action trigger with about a medium weight pull to it. It does feel somewhat long as the break point seems to take a while to get to but once you master where it is, you can shoot this BB gun with surprising accuracy.
Accuracy: Once I sorted out the laser sight which took some MacGyvering (as explained in the video), this gun shot a nice tight pattern! For my quick test I shot free standing from 20 feet away and put 8 rounds into my target taking my time. I got about a 1.5 inch group which was very good and another note worth mentioning would be the Chronograph results I got, even though the Sig Sauer GSR 1911 CO2 BB pistol has a claimed fps of 398, mine came in consistently right around 450 fps!

Build Quality: The Swiss Arms GSR 1911 is mostly plastic and has very few actual moving parts, I'm personally not too worried about it, in fact the lack of moving parts means there is less to go wrong with it! I found the fit and finish to be good overall and as long as you are OK with the plastic this gun should be just fine for you. The only thing that would have been nice to see improved would be the laser and how it is adjusted. As is out of the box without modification, you will find that it easily moves out of aim. (I do explain how I fixed this problem in my video review)
Realism: The Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911 in terms of size and looks, is about what the real gun would look like, with the exception of the trigger which is kind of a strange looking combination of triggers mashed into one. Of course being a moulded plastic airgun, it is much lighter then the real steel 1911 and has the telltale screw holes on the right hand side. The magazine ejector does work but the real steel safety, slide catch/release, hammer and grip safety are all moulded into the plastic so they do not function. On a good note the barrel muzzle is large like a real 45 caliber adding to the realism.
Purchased this gun from: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Much better than advertised FPS and good CO2 usage. (up to 200 shots).
  • Good accuracy once you get the laser working with the gun it adds to the ease of targeting.
  • Inexpensive and comes with lots of extra stuff that ads value. (Safety Glasses, Laser Sight, Starter BB's)
  • Well hidden CO2 tab and 45 caliber sized muzzle.
  • Full Sig Sauer licensing, decent replica in terms of looks
  • Drop out metal magazines, compatible with other airguns (Umarex Beretta Elite II, S&W M&P)

Cons:

  • Pretty much all plastic and not many working parts (less to go wrong)
  • light weight makes it feel a bit on the cheap side.
  • Trigger action is long and takes some getting used to.
  • Laser sight needs to be MacGyvered a bit to make it stay sighted in (again watch my video on how to fix this).

Comments:
The Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911 is pretty much what you would expect from a low cost airgun in terms of build quality, lots of plastic, with less working parts. This does not take away from the performance however as the GSR 1911 performed well in both accuracy and power. It also comes with the laser sight, safety glasses and starter BB's as an added bonus for about the same price as many entry level airguns on their own. If you like ultra realistic guns then this is on may not be for you, but if you want a good performer with the replica look and combined with a value package then I think you will be more than happy with the Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911.

Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911 BB Pistol

The verdict is not out yet for the Swiss Arms Sig Sauer GSR 1911 4.5mm BB Pistol. I really had no idea what this airgun was like and so I was eagerly awaiting for it to show up so I could get a closeer look at it. For a $79 gun you do get a lot: 400 fps, with a 20 round drop out metal magazine, included laser sight with pressure switch, small pack of 4.5mm zinc plated BB's and a pair of protective shooting glasses. All in all a good value!

The down side is most of the gun is moulded plastic including the laser sight but what do you want for a few bucks? To really know if this airgun is a bargain or not, I will need to test it out on the Chronograph and a target. I think the real world performance is going to make it or break it for me with this one so stay tuned for the upcoming review...

Kimar Mod. K 760 .177 Caliber Spring Piston Break Barrel Rifle Review

Type: Pellet air rifle.

Manufacturer:Kimar.

Model:K 760.

Materials: Metal & plastic.

Weight: About 3+ pounds.

Barrel: 14 inches, metal-rifled.

Propulsion: Spring piston.

Action: Single shot.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 1 round.

FPS: 450.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Kimar Model K 760 is a bit stiff but on a beginner gun I would recommend the trigger to be on the heavy side for safety reasons and also to teach correct trigger control. It did not seem to effect my shooting at all which was nice.

Accuracy: Very good, I was surprised at the tight group I got from a semi rested position and with open sights, I nearly got a 3/4 inch group from 30 feet out which is about the best I can expect from just about any gun I have shot in the same manner. The Kimar Model K 760 spring piston break barrel rifle also shot true to it's claimed feet per second rating and got right around the 450 fps velocity mark.

Build Quality: The Kimar K 760 .177 air rifle is not going to win any prizes for style or craftsmanship but it gets the job done and in about as simple a manner as is required. With that said, what can really go wrong with it?Crank the barrel and pull the trigger. The lack of a safety does not really bother me as I never ever trust a safety and it's always good to learn how to keep a gun safe at all times even when you "believe" it is not loaded or ready to shoot. There is some plastic found on the Kimar K 760 like in the sights and the stock but the mechanical parts are all metal including the trigger.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive spring piston rifle.

  • Reasonable quality for the money.

  • Synthetic stock good in all elements.

  • I pump - 1 shot.

  • Decent FPS, could be used on small game with practice.

  • Very good accuracy even with open sights.

  • Adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Very compact and easy cocking effort - good for younger shooters.

  • Made in Italy

Cons:

  • Very basic design, no frills.

  • No safety or trigger adjustments.

  • No ability to mount a scope.

Comments:

Coming in at around $50, you can not ask the world from the Kimar Mod. K 760 .177 Caliber Spring Piston Rifle! What you can ask for is for decent accuracy and usable fps, and that's exactly what you are going to get from the Kimar K 760. This break barrel air rifle is really perfect for a beginner shooter on a budget or even for someone who may want to pack it around in some ugly situations where you wouldn't want to subject your high priced top quality air rifle. For the money you really can't lose with this one!
