Top Most Popular Replica Airgun Pistol Design Types

This is not exclusive to Airguns since trends of Airguns are highly influenced by what type of Real Steel Pistols are popular to people. This is often based on what people see portrayed in movies and TV Series, and also promoted online. There is for sure an overlap in what is popular and it is hard to say what is influencing what? Is it the popularity of Pistols out in the real world that influences what we see being used in the movies and on TV? Or is it what we see in Movies and TV that influences our choices of pistols out in the real world? Perhaps it is a combination of both?

My list is based on my own personal experience and does not represent the entirety of types of Pistol designs available.

Which Beretta 92 Airgun is the Best - Updated

Back in 2017 I made “Which Beretta Airgun is the Best” Video and showed off some 4.5mm Steel BB and .177 Caliber Pellet versions of my favorite Beretta 92 - M9 style Air Pistols. There have been some changes since then most noticeably the addition to Airsoft versions so I thought I would update this video with more current Beretta Airguns along with of course some of the same ones form my last video.

Because I show off 4.5mm Steel BB, .177 Caliber Pellet and 6mm Plastic Airsoft versions I decided to pick my favorites form each category. Watch my Vimeo Review Comparison Video so checkout these Air Pistols and see which ones are my favorites…

Umarex Mod 92 A1 and 1911 Tac Airsoft - Barra Schofield Steel BB Pistol Update Video

In this Vimeo Replica Airguns Update Video I take a look at three CO2 Airguns, one is a 4.5mm Steel BB revolver distributed by Barra and two are CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistols distributed by Umarex. All of these CO2 Airguns I have previously reviewed in slightly different versions either barrel length and finish or Steel BB as compared to 6mm Airsoft So checkout why other reviews on similar version Airguns.

The Barra Barra Schofield CO2 BB Revolver is a replica of the Schofield No. 3 single action revolver and utilizes 6 reloadable shells for a very realistic shooting experience. It is very solid in construction bing made mostly out of metal and weighs in at around 2.4 pounds. This version shots 4.5 mm Steel BBs at a velocity of up to 400 fps. It comes in a variety of barrel lengths and finishes so amen sure to have a look in our Online Replica Airguns Store for what we have available

Next up from Umarex is the fully licensed Beretta Pietro Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback Semi and Full Auto Airsoft Pistol, this product is distributed by Umarex but is made by KWC. Another solid metal pistol with a hefty 2.4 pound weigth that holds 21 rounds in its full size drop out metal magazine and offers both semi and full auto shooting at the flick of a switch!

Again from Umarex I showcase the Elite Force 1911 Tac CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol and like the Beretta Pietro it too is made in the KWC factory for Umarex. The 1911 Tac as the name suggest is a tactical version of the standard Colt 1911 but with some upgrades like a skeletonized hammer and trigger along with an ambidextrous safety, white dot sights front and back and a picatinny rail on the frame for add ons. You can expect velocity to be somewhere in the 400 fps range and the full size drop out metal magazine holds 15 Airsoft BB’s.

Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: BB air pistol.
Distributer: Umarex.
Model:Beretta M9A3.
Materials: Metal and polymer build.
Weight: 1.9 pounds (861 grams).
Barrel: 4.5 inches metal, non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x1.
Action: Semi and full auto blowback, single and double action.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds.
FPS: 330.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is like what you would expect from a real Beretta of this style, it offers both single and double action but most of the time you will be shooting in single action since the slide blowback cocks the hammer after each shot. Single action has a little bit of take-up but has a predictable release that is not overly light or heavy. Double action shots are longer and heavier which is as expected but will only be required for that first shot if you have de-cocked your chambered pistol.

Accuracy: I have not shot this "version" of the  Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol but it will undoubtedly perform very similar to the  Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol I previously tested since both guns are mechanically very similar. You shoudl expect around 320-340 fps deeding on the outside temperature and 10 shot groupings from 30 feet away to be in the 2-3 inch diameter range.

Build Quality: The Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is slightly lighter than the standard Beretta Mod. 92 A1 since it has a polymer frame but it still has a good weight to it at close to 2 pounds. All the materials feel high quality and the fit and finish is top notch. It’s a real looker for sure! The slide spring is one of the heavier ones I have seen in a full blowback CO2 BB pistol giving a real snappy blowback action.

Realism: The Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a 1 to 1 replica of the Real Steel Beretta M9A3 and when I looked at the Real Steel version online I was amazed at how close they looked each other, the Real Steel Beretta M9A3 does have a full beveled magazine well but you can only really see this when the magazine is out of the gun. You are going to find the mechanical parts on the Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol work pretty much the same as the real steel version including the ability to field strip it.

Available at the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Your choice of shooting in either semi auto or full auto mode.

  • Really nice replica of the original real steel Beretta M9A1.

  • Great weight and feel to it. Not too heavy!

  • High quality metal and polymer design, fit and finish is very good.

  • Strong slide spring so has nice crisp blowback action.

  • Realistic working safety and working slide catch release.

  • Full size dropout metal magazine that holds BB's and CO2.

  • Can be field stripped like original Beretta M9A3.

  • Fully Beretta licensed.

  • Can put a mock suppressor on it.

  • Really a great looking airgun!

Cons:

  • Will eat CO2 especially in full auto mode.

  • None adjustable sights but the front sight is removable.

  • Typical Umarex ugly white warning instruction on the slide.

Comments:

If you’re a Beretta fan then I think you are really going to want to pick one of these Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistols, even if you are lady have a different version. The new Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is by far one of the best to date in terms of getting it all right. You get all the typical Full Blowback features like a working slide catch release and magazine release, an ambidextrous safety, full size drop out metal magazine that hods the CO2 and 18 4.5mm Steel BB's. On top of all of this you also have a threaded barrel tip for adding a mock suppressor and the Authentic FDE Color Scheme that really makes the Umarex Beretta M9A3 Full Auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol a real looker!

Which Beretta 92 Airgun is the Best?

In this comparison video I look at a variety of different Beretta 92/Taurus PT92 Airguns and compare them to each other to determine which one I feel is the best Beretta/Taurus Airgun. Keep in mind what's best in for me may not be best for you.

Some of the guns I consider in this comparison video are the: KWC/Cybergun GSG 92 / Taurus PT99, the Cybergun SA 92, the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 /Desert Storm, the ASG/KJWorks X9 Beretta M9, the Kimar/Crosman CK92 and the Umarex Beretta M 92FS.

So which one did I like the best? Make sure to watch my Vimeo Video and find out :)

Cybergun SA92 and SA1911 Tracitcal Stainless CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Shooting Video

I had a chance to take out my Swiss Arms SA 92 Stainless Version and Swiss Arms SA 1911 Tactical Rail System CO2 Blowback BB Pistols and see how they performed in the Sea Can Airgun Shooting range and they did pretty good, I have treated very similar KWC version of these guns in previous videos and for the most part the Swiss Arms Stainless Versions are just a little prettier cosmetically. I didn't test out the Swiss Arms SA 1911 Seventies Stainless Pistol since I expect it would have performed the same as the other 1911 in this Field Test Shooting Video.

So how did they do? First off I fired five rounds through my now almost perfectly working Chrony Chronograph and the SA 92 ended up shotgun a little faster with an average of right around 320 fps while the Swiss Arms SA 1911 Tactical shot an average of 302 fps. I was using  brand new Sig Sauer CO2 and RWS Match Grade Precision Steel 4.5mm BB's for the entire review.

Moving on to the accuracy, I setup in my rested position which is about 30 feet back for the paper target. I was sitting and using a sand bag to rest the pistols on for stability. This gives me a very stable shooting position but there is still a little human factor involved since the guns are not locked in place. Both CO2 Blowback BB Pistols shot about a 2 inch 10 round grouping but the Swiss Arms SA 1911 had better shot placement pretty much hitting exactly where I aimed it, the Swiss Arms SA 92 Stainless on the other hand wanted to shot rather low, I had to place my aim at the top of the rings to get the SA 92 to hit near the bullseye. It did shoot really well left to right, unfortunately the Swiss Arms SA 92 Stainless does not seem to have a hop-up adjustment so you may have to adjust your aim point higher than normal with this one.

Both guns had great single action triggers with heavy blowback operation, I did find the Swiss Arms SA 1911 Stainless Tactical had a bit of a sticky slide when I first shot it but after a few shots it smoothed out. If you're looking for a KWA / Cybergun 1911 or Taurus PT 92 Blowback Airgun and want it ti have a little more curb appeal then make sure to checkout the Swiss Arms Stainless series of CO2 Blowback BB Pistols.

Shooting Airguns in the Finished Shipping Container

Well the Shipping Container Office and Airgun Shooting Range is finally all ready to use and so for this first ever airguns shooting video in it,  I simply wanted to try out a couple of airguns and see how this new setup worked. I also wanted to play around with some camera position setup to see how it all looked and if there will be any additional lighting or placement considerations.

In this video I do a walk around to show off the new completed Shipping Container setup and then I shoot my 6.75 inch barreled Umarex Colt Single Action Army SAA Pellet Revolver followed by my ASG X9 Classic Beretta M9 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol.

ASG X9 Classic Beretta M9 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Blowback Airsoft Pistol.

Manufacturer:KJWORKS Distributed by ASG

Model:X9 Classic

Materials: Metal slide & frame.

Weight: 2.1 pounds (950 grams).

Barrel: Metalnon-rifled smooth bore.

Propulsion: 12 gram CO2.

Action: Blowback, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 16 rounds.

FPS: 312+ fps.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the ASG/KJWorks Beretta X9 Classic is very good in both single and double action. Double action is a bit longer and heavier than when shooting in single action since the hammer is being drawn back, but not overly heavy by any means. Single action shooting is short, light and crisp as you would expect when shooting a real steel Beretta 92 style pistol.

Accuracy: I have not done my actual Field Test Shooting video review for the ASG/KJWorks Beretta X9 Classic CO2 BB Pistol but I did get the chance to make a short preview video where I shot the Airsoft version of this M9 Beretta at some clay pigeons setup around 20 feet away. I was able to pop the center out of the clay pigeons no problem and found that even without any practice I was consistently hitting dead center on most shots. I am not sure exactly what the FPS will be btu it shoudl for sure get at least the claimed 312 fps if not a bit more.

Build Quality: As expected, the ASG X9 Classic Beretta M9 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol build quality is just like all the other KJWorks Airsoft guns I've tested so far. The ASG 4.5mm Steel BB shooting X9 Classic has more of a Matt finish but I kind of like it, not so many finger prints on the gun. All  the tolerances between the moving parts like the slide and frame are very tight showing excellent workmanship and machining from KJWorks.

Realism: The ASG X9 Classic Beretta M9 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol is an excellent copy of the real steel popular Beretta M9, it is really hard to tell it apart from the real version and the ASG X9 Classic can even be field stripped in the same manor as a real Beretta M9 Semi Auto pistol with the similar functioning parts. The only missing aspect would be Beretta Licensing since the ASG version is unlicensed.

Available in the:Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • No ugly white warning instructions on the slide.

  • Really nice replica of the original Beretta M9.

  • Great weight and feel to it.

  • All metal design, fit and finish is very good as is with all KJWorks made guns.

  • Strong slide spring so should have nice heavy blowback action.

  • Realistic working safety and working slide catch and release.

  • Full size dropout metal magazine that holds steel BB's and CO2.

  • Can be field stripped like original Beretta M9.

  • KJWorks quality.

Cons:

  • Not licensed like the Umarex version.

  • None adjustable sights and white dot sights are kind of light.

  • Will eat up CO2 pretty quickly.

Comments:

There are very few 4.5mm Steel BB guns made by KJWorks and it seems that ASG as far as I know is the only distributer that has teamed up with KJWork to have them make some of their guns, I reviewed the ASG CZ 75 which is another ASG/KJWorks distributer 4.5mm CO2 Blowback Pistol. I don't even think you can get the 4.5mm Steel BB shooting version direct from KJWork? What I love most of all about the ASG X9 Classic Beretta M9 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol is that it is made by KJWorks since there are already a lot of Beretta M9's and Mod. 92's already out there but if I could only have one it would probably be the ASG X9 Classsic!

SHOT Show 2017 ASG Interview

Another SHOT Show 2017 interview video, this interview is with Bob Li from ASG (Action Sport Games), Bob shares with me some updates to the super popular Dan Wesson 715 along with the reintroduced EVO Scorpion Inferno powered Airsoft Rifle. Bob finishes up with a new X9 Classic which is a Beretta M9 in 4.5mm Steel BB.

You may have thought the Dan Wesson 715 was already pretty much perfect as is so what could ASG to make it even better? How about different barrel lengths. ASG has introduce the Dan Wesson 715 in both a new 2.5 inch and 4 inch version. Both lengths will be hitting stores shortly and will come in .177 caliber pellet and 4.5mm steel BB options. 6mm Airsoft will be out later on. The 4 inch version also includes an integrated accessory rail machined into the outer barrel for those of you wanted to add items like lasers and tactical lights to your Dan Wesson 715.

Last year at SHOT Show ASG introduced the EVO CZ Scorpion 3 A1 Inferno powered Airsoft Rifle but is again reintroducing it this year since they decided to take their time and get it perfect before releasing it in stores this March. The EVO CZ Scorpion 3 A1 is Inferno powered using an HPA system with a custom chip set that allows for a three round burst option an empty magazine detection.

ASG has sourced out not just any 4.5mm Steel BB shooting M9, they are actually getting their new ASG X9 Classic built by KJWorks. KJWorks is known for their Airsoft guns and I have reviewed several of them to date. If you have been looking for a KJWorks M9 but would prefer it to be in 4.5mm Steel BB then the new X9 Classic 4.5mm Steel BB KJWorks M9 exclusive to ASG is where you can get one!

Umarex Beretta Desert Storm and Daisy Powerline 5502 Preview Video

First off I want to point out that both of these guns I have already reviewed in slightly different cosmetic versions. The Umarex Beretta M92 A1 Desert Storm is essentially the same gun as the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol but with a distressed aged look and the Commemorative Desert Storm licensing on it. Similarly the Daisy Powerline Tactical 5502 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is based on the chrome framed Daisy Powerline 5501 but the Daisy Powerline 5502 comes with a sight rail and compensator.

Check out my other reviews for the Daisy Powerline 5501 and Umarex Mod. 92 A1.

In this video I show you around both the Umarex Beretta M92 A1 Desert Storm and Daisy Powerline Tactical 5502 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol and compare them to their significant similar versions. I talk a bit about specifications but this is a preview video so I don't go into full details. I hope to add some follow up reviews especially a comparison shooting video between the Daisy Powerline Tactical 5502 and Daisy Powerline 5501 since there is a barrel length difference that may give the Powerline 5502 an FPS performance advantage.

I will leave you now with some specifications for both guns.

Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol Field Test Review

I have already done my full Table top Review for the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol so make sure to check that review out for more details on specifications and features.

In this Field Test Shooting video I take out my Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol and place five shots through my Chrony Chronograph to find out what the real word velocity performance will be and I also test the accuracy of the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol by shooting ten rounds down range at a paper target from 30 feet back using a semi rested shooting position(Gun rested on a sandbag, standing in the back). I also include some slow motion video of the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 blowback action close up in both semi auto and full auto modes.

For the Feet Per Second portion of my test I used a brand new CO2 along with 5.1 grain RWS nickel coated 4.5mm Steel BB's. The temperature outside was 15 degrees Celsius (59 Fahrenheit), so not super warm or cold, I would expect a little higher fps on a warmed day. Umarex claims a velocity of 310 fps, I was able to get a five shot average of 322 which was nice to see a higher than claimed fps for the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol.

Moving on to the Accuracy portion of my Field Test, I was able to get all 10 shots within a 2 inch grouping, not bad for a heavy blowback BB pistol. I did notice the shots where a little low and to the right so some shot placement adjustments may be required depending on your shooting range since the sights on the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol are non-adjustable. The blowback action is nice and strong and the trigger is also very typical to what you would find on a Beretta M92. Shooting in full auto mode is a lot of fun and really gets your hand rocking. You should be able to get around 4 magazines in semi auto shooting mode and closer to 3 magazine in full auto shooting mode.

I really like the Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol from Umarex, it's what many of us have been waiting for, a true licensed Model 92 and to top it off we even got full auto thrown in for fun :)

Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: BB air pistol.

Distributer: Umarex.

Model:Beretta Mod. 92 A1.

Materials: Pretty much all metal build.

Weight: 2.4 pounds (1100 grams).

Barrel: 4.38 inchesBrass, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x1.

Action: Semi and full auto blowback, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds.

FPS: 310.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 BB Pistol is like what you would expect from a real Beretta 92 A1, it offers both single and double action but most of the time you will be shooting in single action since the blowback cocks the hammer after each shot. Single action has a little bit of take-up but has a predictable release that is not overly light or heavy. Double action shots are longer and heavier which is as expected.

Accuracy: I have not shot this "version" of the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 but it will undoubtedly perform very similar to the many other full blowback CO2 pistols I have tested like the KWC and Cybgergun M92's, 1911's and Sigs. I did notice the slide spring on the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol to be very firm so I am expecting it to have pretty good blowback action. One other consideration is this CO2 airguns offers both semi and full auto shooting options but with the heavy blowback, don't expect much accuracy when shooting in full auto mode :)

Build Quality: Very good, with almost all metal construction, good weight and craftsmanship. Don't quote me on this but I have a feeling the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol may be made by KWC, if this is the case then we know to expect the same quality as we have found with other KWC full blowback airguns which is pretty good overall. There may be some wear in the high spots of the finish over time but I kind of like this since it gives the gun a more realistic look.

Realism: This is by far the closest Beretta Model 92 out there, even the magazine butt plate looks the part, the safety is true to form and it is full licensed and trademarked throughout the gun via Umarex. I'm not sure if the real steal Umarex ever offered full auto or not but we can look past this for the sake of how much fun it is going to be shooting in full auto! The only negative aspect in terms of realism is the white warning writing on the left side of the slide.

Available at the:Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Your choice of shooting in either semi auto or full auto mode.

  • Really nice replica of the original Beretta 92 A1.

  • Great weight and feel to it.

  • All metal design, fit and finish is very good.

  • Strong slide spring so it should have heavy blowback action.

  • Realistic working safety and working slide catch and release.

  • Full size dropout metal magazine that holds BB's and CO2.

  • Can be field stripped like original Beretta 92 A1.

  • Fully Beretta licensed.

Cons:

  • Will probably eat CO2 especially in full auto mode.

  • Non-adjustable sights.

  • Ugly white warning instruction on the slide.

Comments:

I know the KWC M92 and Cybergun GSG 92 have been out for a while and the Umarex Beretta Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol is along the same lines, but I do like that it is a true Beretta Replica rather than the Taurus copy. I like that Umarex went the extra mile and made the magazine look the part with a much shorter butt plate and adding semi and full auto right out of the box with a dedicated selector switch is pretty cool too. I am really looking forward to testing this gun out and seeing how the blowback action combined with the full auto ability is going to recoil, I have a feeling it's going to kick like a mule!

SHOT Show 2016 - Umarex Airguns Interview

In this 2016 SHOT Show Interview I talk with Nichol Goines from Umarex USA. Nichol and I discuss some new and somewhat revised products from Umarex like the Full Blowback Smith & Wesson M&P40, the soon to finally be released Beretta Model 92 A1, a new Pellet version of last years Colt Single Action Army Revolver and a reappearance and revision of the Walther PPK CO2 Blowback BB pistol.

Last year Umarex introduced their Colt Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolvers and I would say last year they where on of my highlight airguns for the show. They have been selling like gang-busters! One question people have been asking is if there will be a pellet shooting version? Well now there is and like the Steel BB version the pellets load from the back of the shell making it super easy to reload the removable brass shells. The new Pellet SAA Revolver also has a rifled barrel to help with accuracy.

M&

I would have to say this years gun highlight well at least from Umarex is their new Smith & Wesson M&P40 full blowback CO2 BB Pistol. It is a perfect copy of the real steal version complete with a full size drop out magazine and full Beretta licensing. I really hope this one ships soon and does not get delayed like the Beretta Model 92 A1 introduced last year and still yet to be shipped :(

Speaking of the Beretta Model 92 A1 CO2 Blowback BB pistol. It is finally getting released this February and like the S&W M&P40, is a virtual identical replica of the original Beretta Mod. 92 A1 complete with full blowback, a full size drop out magazine and of course all the trades and licensing in all the right locations.

Last and not least but still worth noting is the CO2 Blowback BB shooting Walther PPK. It kind of dropped out of productions which is a real shame since it was the replica BB pistol that got all of this started for me several years back and to this day is still a lot of fun ot shoot! Even James Bond went back to the PPK for the latest 007 movie! Well it's back and this time Umarex got rid of the ugly CO2 tab and replaced it with a discreet Allen key screw. Saves us all from doing the CO2 screw mod :)

Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: 4.5mm Steel BB non-blowback air pistol.

Manufacturer: Gletcher.

Model: BRT 84 All Metal (Beretta Model 84 Cheetah).

Materials: Mostly metal with a few plastic parts.

Weight: 1.54 pounds (700 grams).

Barrel: 6 inches, metal non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, double action only.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 19 round metal stick drop out universal magazine.

FPS: 394 fps 120 m/s.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Gletcher BRT 84 is rather long and a bit on the heavy side but it is smooth and predictable. The release point takes a while to get to but once you figure it out you can get really accurate shot placement with this Beretta Model 84 replica. As with many low cost simplicity designed CO2 Air Pistols, the Gletcher BRT 84 uses the barrel like a hammer. When you pull the trigger, the inner barrel moves forward and out of the outer barrel allowing a BB to move into the breach area, then the barrel snaps rearward hitting the CO2 valve releasing CO2 and shooting the BB.

Accuracy: I tested the Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol from 30 feet back shooting at a paper target using a semi rested position I was able to get a near 1 inch 10 shot grouping on two separate occasions with this rather small and unassuming airgun. In terms of feet per second performance the Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol is  rated at 394 fps, my Chronograph results shooting 5 rounds through the Chrony using a full CO2 and 5.1 grain Steel BB's was a respectable 421 fps, even a bit higher then the factor claim of 394.

Build Quality: Being a pretty much all metal gun, makes the Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol feel solid and sturdy even for such a small pistol. The only plastic parts on the Gletcher BRT 84 are the grips, the CO2 tab and perhaps an internal part like seals and such. The painted finish is a nice dark grey and seems to be wearing really well. Since the Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol is basically a one piece solid metal moulded airgun, there is really nothing to go wrong and no fit problems to speak of. Yes it is basic but it is also really well made.

Realism: The Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol is a replica of the real steel Beretta Model 84. It is an extremely close copy in terms of looks and feel, but does not have very many moving parts other than the trigger, magazine release and safety. So no slide movement or blowback, no working slide catch release, not even the hammer is functional. That said, not much to go wrong if what you are looking for is a gun that looks like a Beretta model 84.

Available in the: Canada Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Very solid all metal construction, good weight and feel.

  • Stick magazine is universal and can be used in many other guns.

  • Very accurate with good fps performance.

  • Grips feel nice, almost have a rubber like texture.

  • Simple design so not very much to go wrong with this airgun.

  • CO2 tab is hidden internally.

  • Reasonable price tag for well built all metal airgun.

Cons:

  • Very few working parts.

  • Trigger is a bit long and heavy, not ideal for action shooting.

  • Sights are non-adjustable

  • No Beretta Licensing

Comments:

I am usually not a huge fan of non-blowback basic airguns, especially when they do not have many working parts on them. However the Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol has some strong points that makes it worth considering, like it's solid all metal build, excellent accuracy and nice high fps performance for such a small sized airgun. It all feels really good in the hand ergonomically and based on the way it's built in such a simple no frills manner, the Gletcher BRT 84 All Metal CO2 BB Pistol should last a long time if taken care of.

Daisy Powerline Model 617X (Beretta 92) CO2 Pellet/BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Air Pistol.

Manufacturer: Daisy

Model:Powerline Model 617X.

Materials: Plastic with some metal parts.

Weight: 1.3 pounds (590 grams).

Barrel: 4 inches - Metal rifled.

Propulsion: 12 gram CO2.

Action: Double action only.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber lead pellets & 4.5mm Steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 round rotary magazine.

FPS: 485 fps using steel BB's.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Daisy Powerline Model 617X CO2 Pellet-BB Pistol is pretty decent on both single and double action, single action of course being shorter and lighter. I even found when adding the 6 shot rotary magazine, this did not effect the trigger pull at all. I would not say the trigger pull is light, but it is not heavy either and the release or breaking point is very predictable which should make the Daisy Powerline Model 617X a pretty good shooter in theory.

Accuracy: This is yet to be determined since I have not yet done my Field Test Shooting review for this airgun. I would expect to get just over 400 fps using lead pellets and as much as verging on 500fps using steel BB's. My prediction is that the pellets will perform best in terms of accuracy since the 5 inch barrel is rifled and the trigger feels good. The sights are not adjustable, but I am hoping the Daisy Powerline Model 617X centers well on target but we will have to find out when I do my shooting review.

Build Quality: The Daisy Powerline Model 617X CO2 Pellet-BB Pistol is made in Japan which is know for producing quality products in general. I would have to say by giving the Powerline 617X a good look over that it appears to be well made with good fit and finish even though most of the gun is plastic on the outside. The metal parts are where they need to be, lots internally in structural areas and externally as in the trigger, hammer, safety, and of course the  internal metal rifled barrel.

Realism: The Daisy Powerline Model 617X CO2 Pellet-BB Pistol is a replica of a Beretta Model 92 even thought there are no Beretta markings on the gun. Some of the parts are moulded in like the take down lever, slide catch release and magazine release but on the plus side the ambidextrous safety is in the correct location, working and metal. The internal metal frame give the Daisy Model 617X enough weight to feel good in the hand but is much lighter than a real solid steel Beretta 92. Size is comparable and other than the sticking out CO2 tab this gun does look like a Beretta 92 until you get up close and personal.

Available in the:Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Fairly low cost with what looks to be decent fps and hopefully good accuracy. (Around $70-80)

  • Shoot both .177 caliber lead pellets & 4.5mm Steel BB’s.

  • Both Single and Double action trigger are smooth and not super heavy, easy to predict breaking points.

  • Red fiberoptic front sight makes it easy to line up targets in different light situations.

  • Latch holds barrel in place nice and firmly.

  • Pretty decent replica of a Beretta Model 92.

  • Made in Japan.

Cons:

  • No adjustable sights.

  • Kind of ugly CO2 tab on bottom of grips.

  • Only has a 6 shot magazine.

  • Barrel is not recessed

Comments:

I have heard that this Daisy pistol shoots steel 4.5mm BB's at right up around the 500 fps range so even lead pellets should have good velocity out of the Daisy Powerline Model 617X CO2 Pellet-BB Pistol. The single action trigger has a nice medium pull with a very predictable break so as long as the sights are centered on target well, I should expect a nice grouping. If you like the Beretta style of gun, don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a pellet shooting version, than the Daisy Powerline Model 617X CO2 Pellet-BB Pistol should work well for you.

KWC Mini UZI and M92 Beretta 4.5mm Steel BB Full Auto Fun

This one is a bit of a revisit since I already did Full Auto Fun Videos for both my Cybergun GSG 92 and Cybergun Mini UZI, both of which I had to do the conversion mods (GSG 92 Full auto Mod Video - Mini UZI  Full Auto Mod Video) to allow them to shoot in full auto modes.

The good news is that out of the box the KWC Mini UZI and KWC M92 both shoot in selectable semi auto and full auto modes. And if you didn't already know, the KWC versions are virtually the same guns since KWC makes them for Cybergun. The only real difference being the KWC version does not have the licensing or white lettering on the BB guns and of course the KWC versions are full auto ready to go.

So with that said, enjoy my YouTube Full Auto Fun Video of the KWC Mini UZI and KWC M92 Full Auto ready 4.5mm Steel BB CO2 Blowback Replicas.

Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: BB blowback air pistol.

Manufacturer:Umarex.

Model:Beretta Mod. 84 FS. (Cheetah)

Materials: Mostly metal with a few plastic parts.

Weight: 1.5 pounds.

Barrel: 3.6 inches, metal non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, single action only.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 17 round full size drop out magazine.

FPS: 360.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS is fairly long but in term of resistance is about a medium pull, there is no double action so single action only but the pull is longer than most single action triggers to accommodate the BB chamber mechanism on the magazine. Basically a BB is pushed into the breach/barrel during the first half of the trigger pull, then the trigger is released. I did notice a fair bit of friction during teh BB loading stage and it has been recommended to lubricate this area of the magazine to smooth out the trigger pull.

Accuracy: I tested the Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS from 30 feet back shooting at a paper target using a semi rested position (sand bag up front and standing in the back). My 10 shot grouping was just a bit above the center bulls eye and very well centered left and right All 10 BB's stayed within 1.5 inches with most of them grouping closer to a 1 inch group. The Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS also got a respectable 363 fps on this not super warm day so I would expect it to hit significantly higher than the claimed 360 fps during hot summer weather.

Build Quality: Being a pretty much all metal gun, makes the Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS feel solid and sturdy. The only plastic parts on the Umarex 84 FS where the grips and some magazine parts like the CO2 tab. The painted finish is a nice satin black. The fit and finish on this Umarex CO2 Blowback BB pistol is top notch with virtually no slide slop at all.

Realism: The Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS is a fully licensed replica of the real steel Beretta Model 84 FS. It is an extremely close copy in both looks and feel, has a nice snappy blowback action and field strips just like a real Beretta 84 FS. You'll also find a full size drop out magazine that holds the CO2 and BB's and a working slide catch/release that locks back when the magazine is empty.

Available in the:Canada Replica Airguns Store & US Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Good price for what you get!

  • Decent accuracy, power and CO2 usage combo.

  • Nice replica of the original Beretta 84 FS (Cheetah).

  • Crisp blowback action.

  • Working slide catch and release (Locks back after last shot).

  • Realistic working ambidextrous metal safety.

  • Full size dropout magazine that holds BB's and CO2.

  • Can be field stripped like original Beretta 84 FS.

  • Fully Beretta licensed.

  • Recessed barrel for realism.

Cons:

  • Has the exposed CO2 tab on the bottom of the magazine.

  • Trigger is a bit long and tight because of how BB's are chambered.

Comments:

Umarex really came through on this one, perhaps they are listening to their customers more and more because time and time again we ask for the same things over and over again with our Replica Airguns: Metal parts where metal would be found on the real steel version, blowback operation for that realistic kick and single action trigger ability, a full size drop out magazine that holds the BB's and CO2, ability to field strip again like the original version, a recessed barrel so it does not look like a toy gun or a better way of saying it... make it just like the real steel version but have it shoot BB's :) I think Umarex got most everything covered with their new Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol.

Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol Field Test Review

Finally, a field test video for you and I thought I would start off with the new Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol. This replica BB pistol is fully licensed and is a very decent operational replica to boot. It has a full size drop out metal magazine with blowback operation, a working slide catch/release and safety along with the ability to be easily field striped. Did I mention it's pretty much an all metal gun?

So this video is mainly about the performance and overall I was very happy with how the compact Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS shot for me. Even on this somewhat cool day, my average fps came in just a smidgen higher than the claimed 360 fps from Umarex. I was a bit surprised at the slightly heavy single action trigger but it didn't seem to effect the accuracy at all as I got about a 1.5 inch 10 shot group from 30 feet away using a semi rested position. You can even coax out around 100 shots per CO2 if you space your shooting out a bit and let the CO2 warm up between magazines.

All in all, if you like the Beretta 92 FS styled pistols but perhaps want a more compact version with good overall fps and accuracy along with licensing and quality build. Then for sure pick your self up an Umarex Beretta Mod. 84 FS CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol.
