In this Replica Airguns Unboxing Video I take a look at 6 Airguns consisting of 2 Paintball Pistols, 3 Airsoft Rifles and one Pellet Rifle. This is not a full review in any way but is rather a preview of what i will be doing full Reviews for over the next several weeks.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Stainless Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistolis not too bad, I feel it is a around 6-7 pounds or so without measuring. In comparison to a real steel 22LR semi auto SAO trigger pistol, the trigger is much heavier but most of these 22LR pistols of this nature have what I would consider to be near perfect triggers. Over time once you get use to the pressure and release point accuracy with this pistol it is for sure possible.
Accuracy: I have tested out the all black version of this pistol which will perform exactly the same or should I say is expected to perform the same since they are virtually the exact same Pellet Pistol but in different finishes. You can watch my Field Test Shooting Video for the all black version but in case you don’t make it there I will fill you in on the basic results… In terms of velocity I averaged 312 fps using 7 grain lead pellets and got around a 2 inch 7 rounds grouping but expect with a bit more trigger time to get closer to 1 inch.
Build Quality: The Stainless Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistolis a low cost target plinker that also doubles as a licensed Replica for that coolness factor so you won’t get an all metal super top quality build here. That said metal and plastics are well used and for sure details in the fit and finish have been improved over the Buck Mark URX version where I found the barrel felt a bit sloppy and the trigger was plastic. The Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol has a much tighter barrel fit when closed and the trigger is now metal! Maybe Umarex watched my video back in the day and took some notes?
Realism: The Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol most resembles the Mark IV Hunter edition and is pretty much bang on in terms of being a replica other than the tell tail hinge just under the barrel required for a spring piston design, there really is no way to get around this so I’m not going to criticize this minor difference. The real steel version is almost 3 pounds and so the pellet shooting version is a bit under weight so it would have been to have had more metal perhaps in the barrel and lower frame. Again since the pellet shooting version is a springer you will not have any working bolts or slide catches or a built in magazine.
Pros:
It's a decent Ruger Mark IV Replica!
Feels well built overall.
Expect it to have really good accuracy like the Umarex Browning Buck Mark URX since they share similar mechanical design.
Barrel locks into place much better than the Umarex Browning Buck Mark URX did.
Fully adjustable rear sight with fiber optic front sight.
Auto locking safety, just don’t forget to unlock before each shot
Actual metal trigger in this version.
Nice and compact, not too heavy.
Full Ruger licensed via Umarex.
Fairly low price tag.
Cons:
No built in rail for a sight system like the Umarex Browning Buck Mark URX.
Would have liked a metal trigger and maybe a slightly lighter trigger pull to match the real Buck Mark's very light trigger pull.
A bit more metal would have been nice.
Significantly more expensive than the black version which is the same exact gun in a different color.
Comments: The Stainless Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol is a decent looking replica and a decent pellet shooting target pistol and if you own the real steel version in 22LR you may just want to get your hands on one of these Break Barrel Replica Pellet shooters. The only real question is do you get the Stainless version with simulated wood grips or the all black version? If you like the look of the stainless version and don’t care about money whatsoever, then pickup that one up since it is a Limited Edition version that will only go up in value over time. If you are on a budget and don’t mind the look of the all black versions or maybe even prefer it then by all means grab one since at the end of the day they will both perform exactly the same.

This will be my only video this week as I am in what is called Peak Week in preparation for the Vancouver Fall Calssic Fitness show I am competing in this upcoming weekend. Peak Week really takes a lot out of me and is rather time consuming with the physical activity I am doing and daily blog styled videos I am posting for my other channel www.GetFitOver40.com.

Starting with my velocity test, I shot 3 rounds through my Chronograph using .177 caliber 7 grain lead pellets achieving 482, 489 and 466 fps with an average of 479 for the three shots. Not bad for a fairly compact Break Barrel Airgun. This is perhaps fast enough for small game like mice and small rats but you would need to get proficient on your shot accuracy to make sure you got a good head or lung shot to make it a more humane pest control.
For the accuracy portion of this Field test Shooting Review I proceeded to fire 6 rounds into a paper target setup 30 feet away. I use a semi rested shooting position with the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun resting on a sand bag up front and me sitting on a stool for stability. My 6 shot grouping was all within around 1.5 inches but I feel like this Pellet gun can do better with me getting a bit more use ot it, still not bad out of the box and with my first round shooting it.
I really like the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun as not only a Replica but it also shoed itself ot be a decent target Airgun at the end of the day. I do have to say the trigger is a bit long but not heavy at all, it has a smooth pull with a soft release. Most pimple should be able towel with this just fine. SO if you are looking for a Replica but also want an Airgun that can shoot hard and with decent accuracy then look no further than the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun.

Trigger Pull: The trigger on the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun is single action only requiring you to break the barrel and compress the internal spring piston before you can shoot it. The actual trigger pull is pretty decent overall. There is very little take-up but the creep is on the longer side but fairly smooth requiring medium pressure. The release is a bit hard at first to predict but nothing some trigger time can’t get you use to.
Accuracy: I have not performed any shooting tests with the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun so far. I hope to make that Video Review next week. I expect the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun to perform well in the accuracy department especially with the included Red Dot Optical Scope installed. I hope the velocity rating from Umarex is based on lead pellets and not hyper velocity light weight pellets but we will find out the story when I perform my Field Test Shooting Video shortly!
Build Quality: The Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun is a China made Airgun but looks to be well made. It has lots of metal parts as you would expect from a Spring Piston Rifle which adds a nice weight and feel to it. I did however have an issue with the front plastic mock Suppressor/Compensator as it does not seem to be attached to the metal barrel very well other than being pressure fit which is not going to cut it with all the vibration a spring piston system makes. My first shot loosened the mock Suppressor/Compensator so I will either have to hold it when shooting or find another way to make sure it stays in place.
Realism: The Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun is kind of unique in this department as most break barrel rifles are not Replicas, especially the more compact sub machine gun styled ones. Umarex did good job making the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun look like a real HK MP7 for the most part. Of course it is a Spring Piston Rifle at its core so exceptions had to be made to make this work including molded non working parts like the magazine release, sector switch and, bolt/ejection port. That said all in all it is a decent looking replica considering it is a Break Barrel Airgun under the skin.
Pros:
Not many Replica Pellet Rifles on the market, especially in a more compact gun.
Comes with Red Dot sight.
Lots of rails for adding accessories to it.
Full HK Licensed by Umarex.
Collapsible Wire Stock.
Nice high claimed 490 fps.
No need for CO2 so low cost to cooperate.
Not effected by temperature like a CO2 Airgun.
Should have better accuracy than most BB Replica Airguns.
Very solid feel to it, good overall weight and feel.
Cons:
Not going to be an action shooter, have to reload after each shot.
A good overall Replica but not as Realistic or full operation as a BB version would be.

Comments: The Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun is an interesting product, on one hadn't it is a Replica Airgun and most people expect a Replica Airgun to have all of the appropriate working parts similar to what would be found on the real steel version. But since this is a Break Barrel Airgun at the core the Umarex HK MP7 .177 Cal Break Barrel Pellet Gun will not function the same as the Real Steel version so as long as you don’t expect it to and appreciate the fact that it should be a nice accurate low cost to operate target rifle then I think you will understand this product and enjoy it for what it is… A Single Shot Pellet Rifle that looks a lot like a HK MP7.
As the title suggest this a video about a Huge Mystery Box so I am not going to say what’s in it, I can say that their are 4 main products mostly rifles per-say. One is a Futuristic Full Auto BB Rifle, one is a Paintball Shotgun, One is an AEG Airsoft Rifle and one is a Replica Break Barrel Pellet Rifle.
So I have a lot of variety here to show everyone! I did absolutely zero research on any of the products I show in this video since like you I had no real idea what was inside other than how many and that most where rifle based.

In this Field Test Shooting Video I put some lead pellets through the Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol to see what the real world velocity is compared to the claimed fps. I also put 7 rounds into a paper target setup 30 feet downrange to find out just how accurate and what kind of grouping I can get from this compact spring piston replica air pistol! For my Chronograph test I placed 5 rounds through my Chrony using 8.18 grain Sig Sauer Match Precision Wadcutter Lead Pellets and was able to average 312 fps so just shy of the claimed 320 fps but there are lighter lead pellets out there and even lighter alloy pellets so higher fps can be achieved with this Air Pistol if you plan on using lighter pellets.
For the accuracy portion of my Field test Shooting Video for the Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol, I ended up placing 7 rounds into a fresh paper target setup 30 feet down range. I was using my standard seated and rested shooting position which does offer a fairly stable shooting platform but not without some degree of human interaction. I was a little bit disappointed in the 2 inch grouping I got, I was expecting closer to a 1 inch group but I would have had to have been on my game and maybe today I was not. Pellet choice can also effect accuracy for sure and so maybe a different pellet would have performed better in this test. Most of the variable was up and down not left to right with only about an inch side to side.
All in all the Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol did a good job hitting velocities as claimed and producing a decent grouping that I feel I could have improved upon once I got use to the lighter firmer trigger than I would like to see on a Ruger Mark IV Replica to match the real steal one more closely. Shot placement out of the box was close to the bullseye, it just needed to move up a bit and a tad to the right but once the sights are adjustable for windage and elevation this is easily fixed with a few turns of the sighting screws. If you are a Ruger 22LR owner than I would suggest you buy one of these Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistols and shoot for even less cost per shot and in more locations since this Air Pistol is super quiet and most makeshift backstops will work with it just fine.

Comments: I remember the Umarex Buck Mark URX being a super fun pellet pistol to shoot even though it is only a single shot airgun. Sometimes just getting back to the basics and taking your time to really place your shots and see how accurate you can be is more fun than spraying BB’s and pellets rapid fire and hoping you hit something. The Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol is inexpensive to buy and inexpensive to shoot, no CO2, just a tin of your favorite pellets and you will get hours of fun for it while honing your shooting skills. And at the end of the day the Umarex Ruger Mark IV Break Barrel .177 Cal Pellet Pistol is not a bad Replica Airgun if you are a collector of shot guns.

For this Field Test Shooting Video I actually had to go outside and use my field so in order to have an appropriate amount of distance to properly test the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle. My Indoor Airgun Shooting Range is only 30 feet long and my metal backstop was simply not usable for the arrows.
I setup a make ship arrow backstop using a large bag of bark mulch with a rubber matt over top. This setup seemed to work really well for the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle allowing the arrows to stick in most of the way. My target was setup around 55 feet away and I was using rested but standing shooting position for my testing.
I decided to combine the Chromo and Accuracy portion of my Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle by recording each shot on my chronograph while I placed shots on target, why not right? I placed 6 arrows on target with 5 of my shots being recorded by the chronograph. The average fps was only 156, the highest being 183 and lowest being 136. I did experience a bit of a CO2 leak when I first placed my 88 gram CO2 in the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle. I believe this was because I did not pull the bolt back which allowed the valve mechanism to be open slightly. I realized this fairly quickly and pulled the bolt back which saved most of the CO2 but I did lose a some. This may have lowered the fps a little bit but I was surprise that the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle was recording about half the fps claimed by Umarex. That said the effectiveness of the arrows and penetration into the backstop would for sure get the job done if I was trying to eradicate some small to medium sized pests.
In terms of accuracy I was very impressed with the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle. At 55 feet or so I was able to get 5 of the arrows all within 2-3 inches of each other, I did have one arrow drop a little bit lower than the main grouping. I’m not sure if I would want to shoot a pest out at 50-60 feet but it could be done with the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle especially if you where to add a nice red dot or optical sight to it. I would think the Umarex AirJavelin Archery CO2 Arrow Rifle would be best suited shooting small to medium game at 30-40 feet which should allow for sub 2 inch groupings.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to do a traditional Field test Shooting video for the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher but then I thought why not, and I’m kind of glad I did, it was a lot fo fun making it and now we all know what to expect for this line of CO2 powered Nerf styled guns.
Umarex claims the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher will perform with 30% faster and farther shots than a similarly styled Nerf spring powered gun but what does that mean. If you look up the average speed of a Nerf Gun on Google, Wikipedia says that it is a around 70 fps so I guess we are shooting for around 100 fps (Pardon the pun). Well after placing 5 shots through my Chronograph and actually getting readings for most shots, I did end up averaging 104 fps so Umarex was bang on with their claim of 30% faster which makes sense to also assume 30% farther.
Next I wanted to see if the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher can actually hit a person sized target at around 30 feet which I feel would be about the max distance you would be shooting the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher as this is really an indoor fun gun. My paper target is about 1 foot by 1 foot in size which is around the same size as a human torso. If I can hit that from 30 feet then I should be able to hit a person. The REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher was able to reach out 30 feet no problem but during the last 10 feet the Nerf style darts did seem to veere off target. I was able to get some of them on target but found that at 20 feet it was way more consistent. So try and get in a bit closer if you want to be more sure of placing an accurate shot on target.
The REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher is for sure a step up from a spring powered Nerf pistol in terms of power, distance, quicker reloading and especially when it comes to realism as they look like a traditional modern styled hand gun rather than a toy gun like most Nerf gun designs. I figure why not grab a couple REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launchers for when you get bored around the house, heck there’s a lot of that going on right now!
Type: Nerf Type Gun. Manufacturer: Umarex Model:REKT OPSIX. Materials: Mostly plastic build with some internal metal parts. Weight: 11.75 oz (332 grams) with CO2 installed. Propulsion: 12 gram CO2 x1. Action: Single shot double action trigger. Ammunition Type: Nerf type foam darts. Ammunition Capacity: 1 round. Max FPS: NA. Claimed 30% faster and 30% father than standard similar type Nerf spring pistols.
Trigger Pull: The trigger on the Umarex REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher is much the same as your standard double action non-blowback BB gun, I’m pretty sure the actual mechanical hammer and trigger mechanism is much the same since the barrel moves in and out just like many of Umarex’s non-blowback CO2 BB pistols. The double action trigger is as expected a bit long but it’s not overly heavy and since this is not a rapid fire gun your trigger finger will not get tired shooting the Umarex REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher.
Accuracy: I haven’t performed my Field Test Shooting video for the Umarex REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher and I’m not sure what that is going to entail but I have placed some rounds at targets around 20-25 feet away and for the most part you can easily hit a human sized object in the mid section easily enough. I would not want to shoot much over 30 feet but the Umarex REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher like other Nerf type guns is mainly for indoor fun.
Build Quality: The REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher is built pretty much exactly like other Umarex non-blowback all plastic CO2 BB pistols and that’s a good thing since they are pretty much bullet proof. I would even go on record to say the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher is built better or should I say stronger than a Standard Nerf gun in terms of plastic thickness and even the fit and finish is very good.
Realism: One big advantage over most Nerf Guns is that the Umarex REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher looks a lot more like a real gun, it’s about the same size, has the same feel and looks a lot like a modern semi auto hand gun other than the bright coloring going on. Ergonomically speaking the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher would make a much better trainer than a Nerf gun and should even fit into standard pistol holsters.
Pros:
No need to work a spring before each shot because of the CO2 power source.
More power and range than a traditional Nerf Gun (30% more).
More realistic looking than most Nerf Guns.
Like an Airsoft Gun but more usable indoors and less chance of injurys.
White dot sights front and back.
Has a working safety.
Uses standard Nerf foam darts.
Picatinny rail underneath for adding accessories.
A great option for having some fun indoors while many of us are shut in our houses.
Cons:
Will require CO2 to operate.
Requires reloading between each shot.
More money than a traditional similar type Nerf pistol.
Comments: The Umarex REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher may be the ideal indoor fun gun right now while we are all staying at home a lot more these days. Sure you could use a standard Nerf Gun but not if you want to be the cool kid (or cool kid stuck in an adults body). I like that the REKT OPSIX CO2 Single Shot Foam Dart Launcher is more realistic looking then a traditional Nerf Gun, perhaps the perfect intermediary gun if you want something between a Nerf Gun and an Airsoft Gun? Hopefully we can keep them in stock and get more product for you if need be moving forward.

This year at SHOT Show 2020 Mark from Umarex had a nice variety of new product to go over with us. Mark first went over the new CO2 Blowback Pellet firing Glock 17 which has a similar magazine and loading system as the Umarex SA10 Pellet Pistol.
We then took a look at another Glock replica, the Glock 18C Full Auto GBB Airsoft pistol with extended magazine, this one is sure to be a lot of fun with its selectable full auto feature and high capacity magazine. Perfect for hammering targets downrange or used as a very capable backup Airsoft pistol in the field.
Probably one of my favorites at the Umarex Booth this year was the Umarex Thompson M1A1 Legends Series CO2 Blowback Machine Gun. And yes it’s full auto capable along with blowback operation and a full size drop metal magazine that holds the CO2 and Steel BB’s. A nice addition to the Legends series of Pistols and Rifles.
Something really different this year for Umarex are the AirJavelin and AirSaber, two arrow firing rifles, the AirJavelin is CO2 powered and more tactical looking but still has more than enough power to shoot medium sized game, great for pest control while the bigger and (480 fps 178 foot pound) more powerful AirSaber is PCP powered and can be used for larger game like deer and wild bore. And it even looks like we will be selling these Arrow firing rifles in our Canada Replica Airguns Store with no PAL firearms license required!

The Umarex T4E HDS Double Barrel .68 caliber CO2 Paintball Shotgun is a two shot short barrelled that could come in handy for CQB engagements but it looks to be designed also as a none lethal home defence weapon since you can load a CO2 without piercing it but when in a bind you simply hit the CO2 screw and it pierces the CO2 activating the gun for instant use. I will have to test this one out to see if it really has enough power to stop an intrude, after all you only get two shots so they better count!
I am happy to say that the first Field Test using my new Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph went really well for me today. Perhaps I have found a new brand of Chronograph that will last longer than a year or so and give me reliable results that I can count on...
So other than that one chronograph reading error for the day which may have been an alignment issue on my part, the Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph performed excellent for me. I would also like to note that I was using the same Caldwell LED Lighting System I have been using in my Sea Can Indoor Airgun range which as expected fit perfectly onto their own Chronograph system and worked well.
The Umarex Strike Point is a lot like the Crosman series of bolt action multi-pump pellet shooters at least in design. Sure it has a more futuristic and plastic build to it but mechanically it works pretty much the same as the Crosman Bolt Action Multi-pump Pellet Pistols. What I really wanted to know is will the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol perform as good?
Umarex states that you can pump the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol 10 times maximum so that's what I will did for my Feet Per Second Testing and the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol was very consistent producing a 427 fps 3 shot string using fairly heavy 14.3 grain lead pellets. Of course lighter alloy pellets should go right up to the claimed 500 fps. I also tested out a 5 pump shot to see what kind of velocity I would get since you don't always need maximum power for basic plinking and target shooting. The velocity did drop as expected but not that much getting 356 fps which is plenty fast for all intents and purposes.
Moving on to my Target accuracy testing, I placed 6 shot in total on my paper target setup 30 feet down range using a rested and seated shooting position. My first 4 shots made a single half inch hole but then my shooting table seemed to move on my 5th and 6th shot making me use a slightly different hold and I believe this caused these 5th and 6th shots to drop a bit. Based on my first 4 shots I expect the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol to shoot consistent half inch groupings from 30 feet away especially once you get use to the trigger and sights. The shots where all a bit low but this is not a problem since the rear sight on the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol is adjustable for windage and elevation.
All in all the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol is a nice target and even small pest control air pistol for at least closer up shooting. The trigger is not as light as the Crosman series but it works just fine. If you want something a little more up to date than what Crosman is offering in a bolt action multi-pump Pellet Pistol then you may want to consider the Umarex Strike Point .22 Caliber Pellet Pistol as an option.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle is not too bad, I would not say it's overly light but not on the heavy side either. Essentially it has a single action trigger since you need to pre-charge the bolt to engage the trigger. There is a little bit of take-up and then a fairly noticeable break point where you will feel the most trigger weight right before it releases.
Accuracy: So far I have not performed my Field Test Shooting review for the Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle so I do not have any velocity or accuracy information to share at this point. I do plan on making that Shooting video Review this week so stay posted for that one.
Build Quality: The Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle is not going to be one of your highest quality airguns but it does get the job done and feels solid enough with all the working parts feeling tight and secure. Most of the Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle is plastic, even the bolt and trigger but you will find more metal inside where it counts like the inner steel barrel and the outer steel barrel shroud. The stock is plastic and that's OK, I do like the addition of the rubber butt pad and cheek rest as they work well and help to make the Umarex Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle feel comfortable to hold in position and shoot.
Realism: Since the Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle is not a replica, realism is not really a factor here but it does look like a gun so treat it as if it was a real gun since most people will not know the difference. Always transport and store any airgun safely and discreetly.
Pros:
Low cost air rifle with a lot of features.
Iron sights actually look really usable with the fiber optic red dot up front.
Comes with an 4x15 optical sight which should help with accuracy at longer ranges.
Super easy to pump even when getting close to the 10 pump max.
Built in auto safety.
Stock and cheek rest position feel really good.
Choice of shooting pellets or BB’s.
Trigger feels pretty good, not too heavy.
Mostly an ambidextrous design so good for lefties too.
Has a rifled barrel.
Overall a good looking air rifle.
Cons:
Mostly plastic, not the highest quality build.
Included 4x15 scope is super low budget but will work till you can upgrade it down the road.
Comments: I really hope the Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle shoots well as it is kind of a cool air rifle with a lot of features at a low price tag and would make a great little target and maybe even small pest air rifle if it turns out to be accurate and hit that near 500 fps mark with pellets. The Umarex NXG APX Multi-pump Pellet-BB Rifle is not going to win any quality or design awards but from a usability stand point it works well and feels good to hold and shoot, the rear stock and cheek rest are in a perfect piston for me and this is a pretty small airgun overal. Personally I would invest in an upgraded scope, something like the Walther 4x32 would be perfect and not too expensive.
I was a bit surprised by the Umarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol, it actually shot a lot better than I was expecting it to perform. I did have to aim rather low since the Umarex DX-17 BB Pistol likes to shoot on the high side but if you are shooting at closer in ranges then you won't have to adjust your aim point so high.
Getting into my performance testing for the Umarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol, I placed 5 shots through my Chrony Chronograph and averaged 210 fps which again was very close to the Umarex claimed 200 fps, even a little bit higher! he DX-17 is a single shot repeater but because of the BB reservoir you can quickly reload follow up shots by simply point the Umarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol a little upward while pulling the slide back and pushing it forward to active the spring piston and load a BB at the same time.
As I mentioned the Umarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol shot on the high side, at 30 feet it's a good 8-9 inches high but I have a feeling that this is about as high as the BB's will rise since they are not going that fast and gravity will start bringing them back down. At about 10-15 feet out from a target the Umarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol seemed to shoot about 3-4 inches high so not nearly as bad and this can be adjusted pretty easy by simply aiming a bit under the target you are shooting at. In terms of a 10 shot grouping theUmarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol got about a 4 inch grouping which I have to say kind of surprised me as I was expecting a much larger spread.
So for about $20 you kind of get what you pay for but I really think with the Umarex DX-17 Spring Powered BB Pistol you perhaps get a little more! It has a really good trigger, seemed to be built pretty tuff, shot exactly right on the claimed fps mark and was even able to keep a reasonable grouping. And to keep costs down even more you never need to buy CO2 so that's another bonus.
